Review: Cheap and effective - I own a 2018 Mazda 3, and the dealer decided to place the license plate directly underneath the emblem on the grill which was extremely ugly. I refuse to do an even uglier offset tow hook mounting solution, so this was the simple and cheap answer to my prayers. I bought this, ziptied it to the bottom of my grill, and attached the plate directly on top of it. No one can tell it's ziptied, it is VERY secure, and looks fantastic.

I removed the license plate and placed the bracket on the bumper. The holes on the bracket matched up with the same two holes that originally held the license plate so I used the old license plate screws and attached the bracket. Then I used to bolts (my own) to attach the license plate to the bracket. Worked perfectly. Can't believe I waited 15 years to purchase a bracket (during which time I went thru three sets of license plates because they became bent and twisted in a car wash) but then I didn't shop at desertcart years ago and I didn't want to pay the dealer or parts store price for a sturdy bracket. For $10.48 it is a great bracket

**Q: Hello! Would you have a picture of the back side of this plate mounting kit? Thank you!**
A: It looks the same as the pictured front.  Blow molded plastic, quite thick and strong.

**Q: Will this plate fit BMW x3**
A: Suggest you check out Skene design, on line.  I used them on two Porsches and they fit great, work great and leave no visible holes.  The mounting kit offered is a very sturdy piece of molded plastic and for what it is, will last.  Fitment is unknown, but the Skene unit will be designed for your x3.

**Q: Once it's mounted with two or four holes into the front bumper, must additional holes be drilled into the bumper to hold the license plate?**
A: It is tricky, but you can avoid having to drill additional holes (this was important to me as well haha).  You will have to make a trip to Home Depot to find some screws that are fat enough to eat into the mount's plastic so that they'll hold, but short enough so that they don't go all the way through the mount and into the bumper.  I couldn't find a screw that was short and fat enough (the mount is only about 3/8 of an inch thick) so I used some washers to add some extra space so that the screws wouldn't go into the bumper.  I hope this helps!

**Q: How thick is it? The description says 0.6 inches. Is that correct--over half an inch?**
A: Description says it is 0.4 inches thick.  A bit over 3/8 inch.  Thicker than dimensions shown for the other two commonly available plastic mounts.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Versatile Plate Mount

I needed this to mount my front plate on a Subaru WRX that came with Japanese plate holes in the bumper. I didn't want to drill into the bumper. This IS fragile. When I opened the package I was impressed by how beefy it seemed. The plastic is thick, but unfortunately it's extremely brittle. I snapped a couple of the bars on mine somewhere along the installation. It still functions just fine, so it's OK. I think it would be nice to have better hardware included. I would have liked some stainless steel or chrome bolts and a machined receptacle. I like things to be cleanly removable but this simply has screws that did into the plastic. There wasn't room behind it for me to use nuts. Overall it's a decent plate holder, and one of few that will allow you so much freedom in mounting. So despite my complaints it still deserves four starts for versatility.
