Expected more
These were delivered to me yesterday, they arrived in perfect shape with no damage to the cartons. Obviously I was excited and couldn't wait to get these up and running, after getting beyond the fact that these things are massive, I got them in place and running. My first impressions are good, outstanding highs and midrange and like other reviews I could hear midrange nuances I've never heard before with my former Polk audio speakers. So again, outstanding mids and highs. Where these speakers fell a bit flat for me is low frequency, I realized when I bought them that they wouldn't have the punch of a subwoofer, but they fall ridiculously short of that for a $6,500 pair of speakers. That said, I haven't had the chance to test them with different amplifiers, so some of that may just be a result of the current amp I'm using which is "vintage" Yamaha M80. Overall I am pleased with the speakers, but not $6500 pleased. I'm going to begin the process of experimenting with speaker placement and different amplifiers this weekend, time will tell. CheersREVIEW UPDATE:So I'm revising my review of these speakers. I'm now driving them with an NAD M23 amp, it made all the difference in the world. The new amp with different speaker placement really brought the speakers alive. I've changed my rating to 5 stars, they are exceptional.

Awesome!
I've wanted a pair of these speakers "forever". I'm glad that we held out for the IV version based on other reviews. These speakers are amazing. Excellent response and no boominess. The bass is tight and well defined, even at low levels. Midrange and treble are also very well defined and clean. We've listened to various sources and are very happy with the sound. They fit very well in our smaller room and do all of the music justice. Bear in mind that these are not lightweight units. They are very solidly built and are indeed 100 lbs each. The are delivered on a pallet and will take some effort to move into your listening area. They are well worth the effort.

You really need to hear the purity, punch and range of these speakers.
After spending months reading reviews, from Steve Guttenberg and a bunch of others, I finally pulled the trigger.Amazing" clarity, sound stage, bass, efficiency. Well worth the $6K.As someone said, you could drive these speakers with a Walkman with a fresh set of batteries.

Amazing
I replaced my RF7’s with these. I was in shock at how much better they are. Ok they are really big, but they work well close up and at low volume. The horn mid-range yields incredible vocals. They have a very live uncompressed sound. The instruments are incredible distinct and clear. Even the clicks on my firetv box took on a new life. Youtube videos sound like the person is in room with you. By far the closest to live music I have ever heard from a home speaker. I have loved relistening to my music to hear all the new found detail. Now I want a pair of mag panels and B&W 801 monitors so I can compare and contrast. For some people these might take some getting to as they are sound is so real it is almost shocking. You can hear a lot of the secondary effect of the instruments, fingers sliding along strings and so on.They came UPS freight on a pallet, had to set up the delivery with USP. Amazon does not make this easy as the shields you from the vendor there for the vendor has issues directing UPS to you to set up delivery, UPS has no way of contacting you. I had track down the package to the correct UPS terminal myself and set this up so it took a few extra days for delivery. I have had is issue before with Amazon

Truly a live sound
I bought these to replace some Cornwall 1's I have that have upgraded tweeters and crossovers. They are everything you'd expect in a heritage Klipsch, big footprint, beautiful book matched veneers with just flawless craftmanship. The sound is crystal clear, and in comparison with the 1s the new tweeters and massive mid range horn are much more bearable for long term listening. Many folks shied away from the "classic" Klipsch sound and while I love it, I also get those folks. These are a beast of a different stripe entirely. They will fill a room with wonderful sound at low volume where the benefits of a big footprint and 15 inch woofer and that massive mid range shine. They'll bring out something in your favorite recordings you've never heard before, and if you use low watt classic gear or tubes the unreal efficiency means 20 watts will drive these things louder than you'll need. Rated at 100 watts RMS so big watt amp folks should look somewhere else, but for everyone else they are spot on. Beware those, these speakers are not for the faint of heart, or anyone lacking floor space. I/ve run them with everything from a Sony STR 6120 (60 watts) to a Dynakit ST70 (35), Sherwood S790 and an S-8500 and several Marantz units from a 4270 in quad at 25 watts to a 2285 and half volume on most of those rigs will rock your house to the foundation. Sure they aren't cheap, but they are worth it.

Value
For those of you who think that 5 or 6k is a lot to spend on a pair of speakers, I have some information for you.As far as I can tell researching the Klipsch website, my pair of Cornwalls were built in 1964. A short time before Amazon. For the math challenged that is 56 years ago! 56! So in terms of investment this is a good one. Mine are all original no updates or tweaks and they still function perfectly! The vocals just come alive and instrumentation is bold and vibrant. Fantastic Product. Just wanted to rant a little, thanks for listening. I thank these for my listening. Have an earful today!

Truly Amazing Sound
I replaced Klipsch R-7 II tower speakers with these. The difference is night and day to those and all other speakers I both own (Revel F208), owned, or auditioned over many decades of audophilia. If you have room, and you want the closest thing to a live performance, look no further. It’s been said they are in the top 10 speakers ever made regardless of price. Mighty well deserved praise.
