IRWIN VISE-GRIP Oil Filter / PVC Pipe Pliers, 9-Inch (1773631)

I bought this to adjust the packing on the stuffing box on my propeller shaft for my boat. It's perfect and will work equally as well for filter changes. This one will stay on the boat and I may order a 2nd for my tool box.

My oil filter is in a hard to reach place. I have had a ton of difficulty removing it in the past. This tool really worked well, and quickly. I squeezed tight enough to put some dents in the old filter. This was not an issue, as it was headed into the trash.

Perfect size for the tight space where 6.7 cummins oil filter is removed under passenger side tire well. Well constructed and wish I had purchased them prior to changing my oil the first time it would have saved me a lot of frustration.

A little small for a lot of oil filters. it would get 5 stars if the handle was longer to get filter a little deeper in the engine

I love these kind of pliers, but these have a really really thin rubberized handle cover, unlike the same color covers but much thicker handle covers, on my other irwin pliers. So i bought the name brand i was familiar with over a secondary brand but was let down on handle quality, and to me that is everything. Secondly the handles are sooooooo very short. Which is something i think could come in handy as a back up set of oil filter pliers (what i bought them for) to get into tighter spaces. BUT, that is not what i was looking for. So now i will hold onto them just in case they are handy some day but i have to buy a bigger more manly pair of pliers to do the job i had intended.

This had made working on my pool pvc piping so much easier.

Most of these type wrenches are slip joint, after a while they wear out and don’t work and more for small filters, these are like channel lock pliers. I expect them to last forever!

I bought this for wrenching sink drains, and would have loved to have actually received it, but the company shipping the item failed to deliver. I always say, "the more Irwin, the better." But I ended up actually buying the Husky equivalent from the plumbing tools end cap at my local Home Depot, and that tool does the job just fine.

It is a great tool, I use it for PVC pipes and connections. Everyone asks me where I found this tool and even professional tradesmen are impressed. I found it on the global store and shipping costs makes it rather expensive. Irving is. a brand that sells in the UK, it would be great if this could be distributed directly on the UK store.
