Sets Fast and Sands Like Wood
Great for minor deck board repairs. It starts to set up quickly so be sure your surface is ready before mixing. After it hardens it sands easily and after a coat of solid color deck stain, I can't tell where the holes and splits in the deck boards were. Only issue was packaging. The lid was broken when it arrived. Not a problem for me because I used all of it within 2 days

great product
I buy this product a couple of times a year. I really like it but thier's a bit of a learning curve on how best to use and apply it. After its mixed its sets up slow which is both good and sometimes bad. it stays gooy for awhile so i usually let it sit before i apply it. if you putting it in small cracks then let sit for about 5 minutes or so. if your molding larger repairs then you could wait up to an hour before applying. It sticks to your fingers quite a bit especially when its first mixed so I always spray a little WD-40 on my fingers before touching it. It takes awhile to get good and hard so I always give it atleast 24 hours before sanding. once dry it sticks and stays where you put it and doesn't shrink. Works great for out door projects! i've got some on outdoor windowsills and handrail repairs for 3 years and still holding up great with no issues! it doesn't take stain that well but not sure any plastic wood epoxy does?

Good epoxy but slightly difficult to shape due to stickiness.
Did exactly what I needed, filled some areas of rotted wood: used the liquid wood rot stop from same company. Mixing 1:1, was super sticky and difficult to work with and nit easy to sculp. The key is high pressure from the putty knife. Additionally cleaned off putty knife’s with rubbing alcohol and the alcohol kept it from sticking to the blade long enough to shape it. Definitely give it 24 hours to cure/dry. Sands amazingly, and was super hard. Painted with exterior paint. So far I feel like it was a great buy in comparison to what the big box stores offer. The color when mixed was a light tan and when dry in 24 hours remained tan. This is my second time buying it. Planning on trying some sculpting epoxy for some more difficult projects but very content with my purchase.

Better Than Real Wood!
If you’re trying to repair heavy outdoor wood damage then this is the product for you! It’s a little cumbersome mixing the two ingredients together to make the epoxy paste, but the result makes the effort worthwhile. The paste spreads easily and even. It dries and cures pretty quickly at this time of year and hardens into a resin that’s just as firm if not more firm than wood. Odor isn’t a problem at all of you’re working outdoors. The size wasn’t great for me, since I used it to repair heavy damage to my deck, and needed alot more than what’s provided in just two jars. However, it wasn’t too expensive, so I didn’t mind making multiple orders (three pair of jars) and the result made it worthwhile. Make sure to clean your tools after use! If the epoxy dries on your knives then you’ll have to restore them by sanding the hardened resin off the metal blade. In summary, its a great purchase, but it’s a little hard to determine how much you need and requires some clean up at the end!

Works well - Durable
This is the best filler! I couldn’t find anything similar at our local big box store. The product applies easily and gives you time to work on a smooth finish before it dries. I used it to fill deck holes that remained after repairs. I recommend mixing it in a disposable bowl with disposable utensils.

Great for repairing siding
I recently used this product to repair some siding on my house. The siding was an OSB product with a heavy wood grain top surface. I was able to match the grain effect and avoid replacing the boards. The PC-Woody is easy to mix and allows a long working time even in hot weather. It sands very well, allowing the ability to match the surface you are working with. I will definitely buy it again. This was used on a surface that I primed and painted, so I do not know how well it takes stain.

PC-Woody petrifier and 2-pt epoxy are both highly recommended!
Clean-up Tip for PC-Woody 2-pt epoxy – Wear disposable gloves. Use nail polish remover (acetone based) to clean working tools. (You can also use denatured alcohol). As soon as you’re finished using the 2-pt epoxy, wet a paper towel with nail polish remover and wipe your tools (metal or plastic); the sticky epoxy immediately melts away. In 2010 I first used PC-Woody petrifier and 2-pt epoxy filler to repair a cedar fence post and cedar gate which were splitting. Also, the screws for the gate hinges & latches were loose and falling out due to the cedar softening from old age (26 yrs). I applied 2 coats of the petrifier solution to harden the deteriorated sections and then filled the areas with 2-pt epoxy. Worked great – now 5 yrs later in 2016, the posts and screw holes are still hard as rock and the hinges & latches haven’t budged. In 2011 the fence was painted with 2 coats of water-based exterior solid stain which covered the repaired areas very well; still looks good today. This year my rough-cedar exterior stairs has tiny vegetation growing on top of the top two treads, as well as on top of my cedar picnic table. I have no idea what type of plants they are (could be lichen), but they have bright tiny orange/yellow flowers with short white roots. Warning – get rid of plant growth in wood as soon as you see it! Unfortunately, if left too long the vegetation eats and rots the wood from inside out making it soft and spongy. I sprayed twice with 50/50 bleach & water solution to kill the vegetation and covered the area with plastic to keep out the rain. After the vegetation died, I dug out the soft rotted wood portions, which left huge voids in the treads. I applied 3 applications of PC petrifier which hardened the rotted sections. Using a plastic putty knife/spatula, I filled the voids with PC 2-pt epoxy on 3 different days in order to build up the damaged area and allowed the epoxy to dry 24-hrs between each application. The epoxy is now hard as rock ready to sand and paint. After sanding with coarse-grit sandpaper, I painted using Benjamin Moore water-based solid stain, which covered the repaired areas without any problem. The stain on the repaired areas dried slightly lighter than the wood, but it’s by far a vast improvement over the rot-damaged look. The finished top tread looks a bit rougher in grain texture, rather than totally smooth, but I needed the rest of the epoxy to repair the picnic table. Since the stairs are made from rough cedar, I’m not too concerned, as the wood already has a naturally rough appearance. Time will tell as to whether it will maintain its weight-bearing strength and although the top tread sustained considerable wood rot, it now feels completely solid and safe. For the stairs I used 1 1/3 (16-oz) bottles of petrifier and 1 1/3 (12-oz) cans of 2-pt epoxy; the remainder I used for the picnic table. Overall, I’m very pleased with the finished result and highly recommend PC-Woody petrifier and 2-pt epoxy for similar repairs.

Solid results and Strong
This epoxy set is very useful for the novice and advanced woodworker and do it yourselfer. When mixed together the results are a solid and durable surface that can be sanded and treated in various ways. I highly recommend this product for those who need to patch smaller and larger holes or do wood repair repairs.
