Delicious authentic blend perfect for baking and sprinkling
I am a pastry chef, and was looking for a masala chai spice mix to flavor a Pumpkin Chai Latte cake I was making for the fall. I had heard good things about this brand so gave it a try. Wonderful aroma and flavor! It was exactly what I needed to give my dessert an authentic flavor. I have since started using it to sprinkle on Iced Chai Lattes when I make them at home and that pumps up the flavor to a delicious degree. The container is sizable and lasted me a full year. I highly highly recommend!

Good strong spice to punch up teabag masala chai
I love it! Exactly what I was looking for. Tea India's Masala Chai was the strongest flavor masala chai I could find but I wanted stronger! I just added about a quarter teaspoon of this along with my usual bag of Tea India Masala Chai and stevia and boiled it in the microwave. Excellent! Good, strong spice with ginger. The instructions on the can concerned me: it says to strain after boiling and I can't be bothered. I was delighted to find that this instruction is only for loose leaf tea: this powder stirred in just fine and any undissolved powder did not bother meโless than that from coffee made only with the stainless steel strainer in a coffee maker, which is also fine for me. I'll include a picture that shows the little bit of powder left over after I'm done with my tea. I also appreciate the nice little container it comes in, also pictured here. I was originally concerned upon receipt by a California Prop 65 label that warns about lead levels and cancer. After further reading on this, I learned that if produce were not exempt from these labels, potatoes, spinach, avocados, ginger, and cinnamon (included here) would have these labels too.

Good masala for morning tea.
Came In packed and in a squarish tin box. Fresh and long shelf life. Had a nice aroma to it when I opened the box. I will say for one cup use 1/4 tsp or so so itโs not overpowering specially if you do t add sugar like me. I made my cup of teabag tea and added 1/4 tsp of it and I liked it. Had hints If ginger but I feel the allspice might be overpowering it a bit and wished it wasnโt there. But I still liked the flavor.

Excellent Chai Spice!
I love this! After a lot of searching & testing awful teas, I finally found a delicious spice! I add this to my own plain regular or decaf hot tea. It's so good, there's no need for milk or sweetener. It's a fine powder, so it's not gritty. Has all of the great ingredients for a good Chai spice & not just an overwhelming cinnamon flavor. Has a good bite with the ginger, pepper, cardamom. It's a good value, fresh tasting. I used it in an apple pie & it was awesome, too.

Superb Blend of Chai Spices and Outstanding Customer Service!
I am a long-time chai latte fan and I am very particular about the blend of spices. For me, a chai latte should not be dominated by cinnamon. The overriding spice should be ginger, but the ginger must be perfectly balanced with the other essential chai spices -- cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and clove. Spicewalla's Chai Masala is one of the most authentic chai blends I have used (and I have tried them all). For those who say it is too peppery, that's how real chai tastes! (However, if you prefer a more cinnamon-heavy blend -- you can easily add some ground cinnamon to change the ratio.) One of the best things about Spicewalla, however, is the excellent customer service I received from Thomas. The first batch I purchased back in December 2019 was not finely ground enough to fully dissolve, so this resulted in a gritty chai. I wrote to Spicewalla and Thomas reached out to me to let me know that this was not a typical experience and that I must have received a batch that was too coarsely ground. He gave me a refund, but he then went above and beyond by sending me a new tin (plus a few other goodies to try). The new batch was amazing -- it fully dissolved and made for a truly delightful afternoon chai latte. Spicewalla will now be one of my go-to chai blends! My preparation, for anyone who's interested: Boil one cup of water. Add desired amount of Spicewalla Chai Masala to water. Stir and allow to fully dissolve. Heat up* one cup of almond milk** Pour almond milk over water/chai mixture and stir. Note that I don't add any black tea to mine. But you can easily do that if you want! * I use Breville's Milk Cafe Milk Frother -- it does not technically steam the milk, but it warms it to your desired temperature and froths it up really nicely. ** I use Whole Foods organic unsweetened Almond Milk, which has no carrageenan.

not sure if it's just weak or if it's stale
i got the smaller amount that comes in the metal tin and unfortunately i am not happy with it. first of all i have made masala chai a couple times with this changing the ratios of things trying to make it work, balanced milk and water, more water less milk, even less milk. i've found to be able to taste it at all, i need to use 4 times the recommended amount. to make 10 oz i have to use a whole tsp. this would be gone in less than two weeks at that rate. the flavors are super unbalanced, the only flavors i can distinctly make out are ginger and black pepper. i don't know if the ratios are just off from production or if this is a result of it being pre ground and them going stale in short order due to the container not having an airtight seal and the aromatics just disappearing rapidly. i'll be returning this and trying a different brand that gives me more for the money while also being cheaper. at least with that it will be economical for me to simply add what's missing to balance out the flavor if it's the same kind of thing.

Very authentic spice
Good product for sure. But why does it come with a shaker lid when their tea recipe calls for a 1/4 tsp. Does the shaker lid come off so I can spoon out the contents without making a mess trying to shake out 1/4 tsp into a very small spoon. I love the product. It is my โgo toโ for Twinings Chai Spiced Latte.
