Frame lasts. Need to replace rope at times
My cats give this a big workout. Eventually the rope gives way. I've been able to replace with sisal rope and a glue gun. The frame is solid!

Would purchase again
I searched for a sturdy, slanted scratcher, this works well. I have 2 cats that use it everyday. The carpet is starting to come off but with the high usage, that is inevitable. I'll purchase this one again when we need a new one.

Not made well
I have always loved these for my cats, but this one looks like it was made shoddily. I will keep it, but I can tell it won't last long!

Cats need to scratch!
I have several of these around my house for my 7 cats. They like to scratch the sisal and they like the slant of the piece. Cats need scratching posts of various heights and configurations to keep them engaged. I like these because the carpet is a good grade, they are heavy enough not to move too much (mine are on hardwood floors, so will move some), they love the angle and the sisal is good quality. Both the carpet and the sisal get worn after several years of heavy use, but they are reasonable enough I can simply add a couple to the collection when needed. I highly recommend.

Kittyโs favorite scratching post
This post is my catโs favorite scratching post. He doesnโt give his other posts the time of day. I suspect the way the scratcher is angled makes it quite sturdy and able to hold his weight while he goes crazy... something I think my cat appreciates. The reason I am giving only four stars is because although the base structure is sturdy, the carpet pieces do not hold up very well; little pieces were being torn off immediately, and approximately six months later almost the entire front side of the top carpet portion has been stripped off. Also at some point, the rope material began to unravel. I made an amateur knot where it began to unravel and it seems to have solved the issue for now. Overall, however, my cat returns to this scratcher day after day to release his instincts on it (and noticeably less on the couch or whatever piece of furniture I place it in front of). I will continue to purchase this scratcher until a cheaper or more durable option is available.

My Cats Love The Angle Scratch
I like the look of these angle posts better than the straight vertical ones. They just look right, like it's made to be user friendly for the cat. My cats love them. I feel like if I was a cat this would be my preferred style of scratching post. I have one that they shredded after a couple of years and so I bought some sisal rope of the same size at the hardware store and wound it round and tacked it with a brad nail gun to replace the old, worn out stuff rather than get a new post. So it's totally "refillable" if you have the skills.

Color does not match the picture nor the quality of the product,as well.
I very rarely ever do any rating of a product, but felt that I had to this time. My cats have a very sturdy angled scratcher, but it is being redone in order to replace the sisal fabric so that is why I ordered this one in the interim. The one positive is that it was shrink wrapped well during shipping in.large box, but,on the other hand no cushioning of any kind in a very large box so it would easily bounce around during shippping.. After unwrapping, I saw that ;it was a different color than on the picture. I thought it would be light beige like the picture., but it is gray and not a pleasing gray. Most importantly, the end of the sisal rope right in front was sticking out and not secured at all. That should have been very obvious to the merchant from the get go. When trying to push it under some of the rope, it did not work. Not only that, but there were also 2 more rows of loose sisal. Upon observation, all rows of sisal rope are not secured, just wound around the wood so will easily become even looser when a cat scratches it. It is not anchored to the wood at all except for at the very end and only one end was anchored down. I went ahead and used gorilla glue to anchor the sisal, trying to make it not come apart when being scratched by the cats. There are loose nylon threads coming from the carpet at the top. This scratcher, in my opinion will never last if others have the loose sisal, etc. My two adult cats love all of my cat trees and scratchers, but not this. They will not even try using it. I even sprayed it with catnip, but to no avail. In my opinion, I would never recommend this to any of my friends or those who adopt from rescue group I am a volunteer with. Certainly poorly made (although there is a round piece of solid wood attached at the base of the angled part to keep it up and that is a plus). If anyone goes ahead and spends money on this, I would take a close look upon opening and send it back if you see all of this. I did not send back because I had glued some of the sisal and had sprayed the scratcher with catnip. It would have been in better shape than when I received it if sent back, but it was trash day and I recycled the shipping box. Also, I feel that it is not workable for adult cats unless they are lying in front of it and reaching up to scratch. The size is a good one for kittens because of the size and because it is so light weight, but, again, I would NOT recommend spending your money on this product.

Best ever
Purchased same 8 years ago from a pet store; no longer carried today. Finally, found same item on Amazon! The first has held up well except for the sisal coming undone and is pretty ratty. Until I can make repairs I wanted a backup. My cat went crazy over it as I took it from the box! Loves it! Best scratcher as it wonโt tip over and is so sturdy. My cat had the first one as a kitten and is now 13 pounds. She loves to climb this and balance on top!
