A little gem!
I am so thrilled with this French Fry Cutter! Especially because I thought I'd have to pay $60+ to get a good one. I wanted to be able to make my own fries from organic russet potatoes (with skins on). This device is easy to use, offers two good thicknesses, and doesn't take a huge amount of strength to cut perfect fries every time. The suction feature is a plus for keep it from moving on the counter. Though made from plastic, the device feels sturdy and well made. Big surprise is it's easy to clean and small enough to store easily. You will have to trim big potatoes, but that takes no time at all. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this if you want to make fries without a huge investment in a big, heavy piece of specialty equipment.

Durable, easy to use
I wanted to buy a fry cutter without spending the big bucks for an all metal one. The picture of this RSVP model is a bit deceiving. The cantilever mechanism looks flimsy and cheap. It's actually quite rigid and does the job perfectly. The metal arm is very solid. The suction cup on the bottom works great and didn't slide at all. I'd give it 5 stars if it a) had one more blade to made thin cut fries b) was dishwasher safe (the blades are had to clean by hand). But I'm still keeping this model.

should give it 10 stars!!!
great cutter... I had some monster russets from a big box store.. cut them in 4 pieces and this thing worked great.. I found if you put the smaller end of the potato in first it won't jam at all.. putting the wide end in .. if it slid in funny it got jammed .. small end was the way to go.. cut like butter once I got the hang of it.. soaked them in salted water... blanched the fries.. then a high heat fry.. was exactly the same as one of the burger chains that make home made fries... they vanished at the party!!! .. will be a tool I use every time the deep fryer is out... easy clean up the piece that pushes through the cutter is removable so I could clean out the chunks with ease.. great deal... will never use a mandolin again!!!

Made my meal preps easier!
I love this little device! Like most of us, I love a good potato but I don't like doing all the work of preparing such as peeling and cutting. This cuts the perfect fry. You will probably need to cut your potato in half or to size so it will fit in the chamber of this device. If you like making fresh French fries, you need this in your life:)

It does work.
It works quite well, but the potatoes can't be very large (cut them in half) and it does take some strength to use this. My arthritis doesn't allow much strength in my hands, so it's difficult for me personally.

I used this even to make apple pie!
love this thing. I use it not only for potatoes, but carrots, celery, apples and even onions! I made an apple pie quickly blowing 6-8 apples thru this rapidfire. the cleaning is great, the thought put into it is perfect. Its easy to figure out how to use. What I'd like is for additional blades. Not sure if they make one with even larger slots but I'd like it. Somewhere i read that someone wished the fries didn't go all over the counter as you cut them. I just put a plastic cutting board in front of it and put a paper towel on it and that takes care of them going anywhere. Its not like the fries fly out of the end...LOL...Anyway, for the price and all, this is a no brainer.

Great product, but requires decent strength to push potatoes through
It works well, but it's a bit hard to use! The potato pieces have to be pretty small in order to even fit in the french fry cutter and even then, you have to put in a decent amount of effort into pushing the potato through. I'm young/strong, so it's not a problem for me, but my mom can't use it comfortably. Just be cognizant of who you're buying the cutter for, since older generations might not be able to handle it well.

Couldn't be happier!
This French Fry cutter is great. Don't worry about the potato not fitting - just shave off the sides to make it a little less round - and voila! perfect french fries every time! The included large and the small size cutters work equally well. We love it to cube potatoes for soup or potato salad - just cut your raw slices up and you have perfect little cubes. One of the few kitchen gadgets we own that we use all the time - recommended! Very easy to clean and store - all in all, a well thought-out design. It doesn't plug in - it just works!

Works great. Worth the Money !!!
I was very pleased this product. Cuts fries great. I also used it to cut potatoes for potato salad. After putting them through the cutter I just cut them crossway before cooking. Was very easy and saved me lots of time. Very easy to clean. Only complaint I have is it would be a little nicer if was longer in length. Does not cut large potatoes.

A good tool for occasional French fries
I like this because it is sturdy, does the job and does not cost too much.It is good for small batches of French fries. However, if a potato is too long or too fat, it needs to be cut.And it takes quite a lot of force to get the potato through. This is at the beginning when the cutter is well sharpened. I wonder what it will require in a few years/months. A good physical exercise though!
