Easy to understand book with small simple songs for beginners

I really like this book. I've been teaching myself keyboard for 7 months but this book includes piano chords, which is the main reason I purchased it. This book really is for absolute beginners, as it explains quarter notes, whole notes, rests, basic music symbols, etc. in an introduction at the beginning of the book. As a person who has been in band and playing other instruments since 4th grade, (I am a senior in high school now) I skipped the introduction and first part of the book and went right to the part where it discussed chords and playing with both hands. The note names are printed inside the notes, however the print is very small so I would suggest learning the notes rather than reading the note names each time. In the back it includes charts with left and right hand notes, as well as a "quiz" allowing you to fill in the blank to note names and chord names for practice. It also includes circles with note names that you can cut out and place on your keyboard to help you memorize the notes. This is a great book for those who are just learning to play!

Got this for my son since he got a keyboard for his birthday. He loves it! And has help him improve.

Bought this to learn how to play the keyboard and it was easy to follow. Instructions were not complicated. Pictures were true to the keyboard set up. Would recommend for beginners for sure.

I bought a keyboard and the directions that came with it were sketchy at best. I bought this book because I was hoping it would explain more about the keyboard functions. It is sadly lacking information like that and refers you back to the manual. If the manual was better, I wouldn't have needed this book!!This book is very good at teaching the fingering. I would have given it 4 stars, except the notes are so small, they are hard for an adult to see. I have to bend over, which is hard on the back. I would imagine a child would have their head closer to the book, so it wouldn't be as big a problem.
