Tone City Kaffir Lime Overdrive. Powerful Tonal Response. A Mighty Mini !

My new #1 overdrive. I used a blues driver for years, then switched to a donner tube drive as my main drive. I also borrowed/used many other drive pedals over the years, but none were better than my old setup until now.This thing is amazing. The dual band tone controls allow you to dial in a lot more tones than most other pedals. Very versatile and amazingly transparent tone at low gain when the EQ is set right. It can go from a very light, clean tone with just a bit of breakup and color to downright gritty blues and rock, and it sounds sexy at every level of gain. Best overdrive I have ever used, bar none.The gain range is reminiscent of tube screamers, but don't confuse this for a screamer. This one doesn't have the nasty low-mid EQ hump that tube screamers have, and the entire gain range is usable on this guy. I believe this pedal is similar to a tube screamer circuit-wise, but it definitely sounds worlds better than any tube screamer I've ever heard and it is much more versatile. This is the pedal for those who want their tone improved by a pedal. Tube screamers are for those who want their tone diminished and squashed to something resembling a fart in a coffee can.It has a medium, gorgeous grit to it and a really sweet, sparkling sound. Not warm/muddy unless you want it to be, but still a smooth sound. It sounds amazing with a strat. It gets pretty heavy when the gain is cranked and it can also function as a loud boost if you're into that kinda thing.It sounds amazing on its own and improves the sound of any drive pedal I stack it with, regardless of ordering. It gives me tons of new options, and all of those options are great. This guy has helped bring back a lot of my inspiration to play and I often find myself getting distracted listening to myself play it, thinking "dang that sounds awesome!".The hardware is all good, it comes with a fitted foam pad or Velcro strip which you can choose from in the box, as well as a plastic foot switch cap. The LED under the clear knob is a nice touch. The foot switch is the clicky type, but it feels solid and sturdy and I don't foresee any problems with it.Very happy I picked this thing up.

I’ve been through a half a dozen or so TS variants. Some costing double what this does. This one works great with my particular gear. And you can dial in or out the high and low (like if you need to cut through the mix). This is my 3rd Tone City pedal. All 3 have been great. And I’m a pedal snob for sure!

Beautiful tonal enhancement for cleans and an ample variety of distortions. I was very pleased with the transparency and tightness of this drive even with extra-fatness engaged (individual controls for highs and lows are a brilliant addition to the tonal qualities this pedal has to offer).For me, this is not just another screamer twin. This pedal has its own voice and that voice is the stuff (my) wet dreams are made of.The only extra I can think of is a silent switch, but it really depends on your specific application. It seems very well constructed and I didn't think I'd feel so happy about this purchase.Got it from Earth City Sound Co and was surprised by their fast delivery and nice packaging. I will buy from them again.

Sounds good. Level knob is super sensitive making volume control almost useless. Have to leave most of these tone city level knobs at like 9:00 to make it so volume difference vs other pedals isn't to crazy. Probably caused by using an Audio POT instead of a Linear POT.

This is now the number one overdrive pedal on my board. Fuller tone than most "green" pedals! Greater control of tone with bass and treble. Smooth and powerful boost/overdrive. Small footprint with big tone. Makes my strat sound expensive!

Tones!! Tones!! Using w/ a Vox AV30 and getting just great tones w/ it. A great addition to my pedalboard.
