Simple straightforward tool for a beginner
This is a flimsy simple piece of plastic. But can give your work a nice tidy finish because it helps you make even spaces AND helps you place your screws nice and evenly.I used this to place some floor planks on my kid's playhouse. I actually used 4 of them (so two packs of this item) for longer planks. It's cheap enough to do so. I'm not sure how it would stand up to heavier work. But then again I don't know if you'd be buying this to be used over and over for years

Easy to use and very helpful!
I bought 10 of these to use when installing 16' deck boards on my 12'x16' deck. It was the perfect amount. I found that not pulling the boards super tight against the spacer was ideal to getting the spacer out after screwing down the board. I used the claw of my hammer to gently wiggle them out. By the end of it I had 5 spacers left with the 1/8" spacer. The other 5 broke off because I pulled too hard and they ripped. Not a fault of the product, but rather the operator squeezing the deck boards too hard. The spacers also really helped get screw spacing correct and the results look REALLY good. Don't use a blue chalk line; it'll stain your wood. Get white if you can. If you're less precise like me, but still want good results, just keep your spacers over your joists (duh) and you'll be just fine.I don't think these would hold up to a professional deck installer day in and day out, but for the DIY crowd, they're perfect.

Great product but questionable quality
I ended up buying two of these because of the other comments. In regular use the product did snap off a few ends which made it difficult to continue using the other sides with differing widths. Overall it was worth it for the money and I would buy again, but just plan on it breaking through normal use.

Absolute necessity for DIY deck installation
If you're a Do-It-Yourselfer building a deck, these are a must-have.I'm renovating and extending a 25 year old deck, and I installed composite decking on the first 12x10 section without spacers, believing that the Concealoc clips I used would automatically space the boards uniformly. Big mistake. Once complete, the gaps varied widely and looked like crap.So I bought several sets of these clips and used them for the 15' x 12' dining deck, where the gaps are absolutely uniform. I gapped the Timbertech at 3/16", and the Azek trim at 1/8". I even found that I could correct for a slightly out-of-square deck by using these to vary one side by 1/16" from the other side, ending up with gaps that appeared uniform and overlaps that were precisely even.Great product, hugely useful.

Works Well for the price
Works very well, however, needs to be thicker between sizes as one broke off already

Inexpensive, versatile, good for short spans of decking.
The local hardware and building supply stores sell tons of composite decking but none of the installation spacers. I rebuilt a small porch and installed composite decking using these spacers. They help provide consistent spacing with a choice of 4 thicknesses and the side tabs act as a jig to guide your fastener placement. Hint: putting a piece of tape on the tab opposite your desired spacing makes it easier to move along quickly.
