Doesn't work all the time... Update: now it does!!
This was very easy to install. It comes with an adapter that uses the cigarette lighter plug. But that would leave a wire hanging down from the windshield. I don't think the power wire is long enough to run around the edge of the windshield, unless you had a very small car with a very small windshield. Instead I spent the extra money on this: Dash Camera Vehicle Hard Wire Kit - Mini USB Compatible with G1w / G1w-C / G1WH / GT680W / Mini 0801 / Mobius Action Spy Tec Camera and More | Car DVR Camera Recorder Dashboard Dashcam | Black Box Video Recorder | and this: Pico 0956PT 10 Amp ATM Mini Blade Fuse Add-A-Circuit Fuse Holder The hardwire kit will work with this camera. The Add-A-Circuit should be vehicle dependent...so be sure you get the one that matches the fuses in your car. The one I posted here should work a lot of cars, but you should double check. It's much easier than just jamming the power wire into the fuse box like I used to do. Anyway, with those parts the install was easy. The camera itself seems to work great. I haven't had to go back and use the footage yet...but I've checked the card a few times and it's recording fine. BTW, as other reviews mention, get the 32GB card max. The settings out of the box are fine...I didn't change much. But the manual is actually very good (nice surprise) and it's easy to change anything you want. I had been thinking of getting this for a while, but never pulled the trigger. I was riding in a car the other day and it was struck by a guy driving recklessly. Fortunatley it wasn't my car, and I wasn't driving (and no one was hurt), but I remember thinking that if there was a dash cam installed, the issue of who was at fault would be much more simple. I pulled the trigger that night, got the camera in 2 days, and was up and running a couple hours after that. Worth it for the peace of mind. **Update 4-18-16** I've been periodically checking the SD card and the recordings are sporadic. It will record for 5 min, then it stops and doesn't start a new recording. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Also, the other day I saw someone driving crazy on the highway, I hit the red button to save the file, but when I got home, it wasn't saved. So, it only records sometimes...which is definitely NOT OK for something like this. The point is to have a recording when you need it. With this unit I have no confidence that it's recording. Maybe my unit went bad? At this point I would not buy again. **Update 7/9/17** I kept this unit going until I sold the car recently. Here is what I found over the past year. The type of SD card you use seems to matter. I don't recall what SD card I was using initially, but something about it was not compatible with the unit. I cheaper card seemed to work much better. The biggest issue is that cold temps prevented my unit from working. The unit won't turn on until the temp inside the car is warm enough. I don't know what the unit has inside for power (battery), but whatever it is, doesn't seem to work when it's cold. So the first 15-20 min of each drive is not captured until the unit warms up...in the winter only. Aside from that, it seemed to work OK. I'd still keep my 2 star rating. In my new vehicle, I'll look around a bit before installing this again. **Update 1/21/2020** Rexing has been contacting me about some of the negative issues I had with my unit and sent me a new unit to replace my old one. This unit is an updated version and seems to work better than my original unit did. No problems with the recordings or power like I had before. It's a good unit and I'd recommend it for sure. Form factor is the same as the previous version, which is good. Some units look big and clunky, like a go pro stuck on your dash. This fits nicely behind your rear view mirror and is not visible at all. Good unit.

Praise from a natural skeptic. I now own 3 V1 devices. (See several updates, including 5/21/17, now 11/27/2017)
(See updates at bottom of original review) How many times have you bought a product online after extensive research only to find when it's delivered it doesn't live up to the hype? I'm naturally suspicious reviews that are not verified purchasers or revised who are given free or discounted merchandise to provide a "free and unbiased review" are shills for the manufacturer or retail seller. Well, none of these app!y here. And, my review is unaffiliated with the seller or manufacturer. This item is everything users claim. I have tested on one long drive and the resulting video and audio were of excellent quality, the field of view was satisfactory, the automatic iris adjusted for varying light levels from bright sunlight overhead to low ambient light at sundown. I'm very fastidious about video quality as a 40-year veteran of audio-visual enterprises. I won't attempt a technical review as most potential buyers are interested in key features and whether the device works reliably and has any downside or limitations. Surprisingly small, it is relatively easy to set up once you've installed a micro-SD class 10 card. 32gb is best because any video file is big, and these are hi-definition. Throw away the small, inadequate instruction booklet included in the box, and go to the rexingv1.com site and download and print the more detailed, comprehensive update. It's well worth it. Can't comment on reliability until I've used it more over time, but it seems well-built yet I worry exposure to the notorious Florida high ultraviolet light content in unremitting sunlight might take a toll. Another tip. I installed my unit using Velcro tabs until I'm sure of the device and it proves reliable. Just DON'T fail to use alcohol on a microfiber towel to clean the installation area (behind the mirror) before attaching the 3M tab supplied or Velcro. This will better assure the adhesive won't come loose from high windshield temperatures. You won't be disappointed by the high quality images. They are standard .mov files. I haven't tested the parking feature or motion detection features and because they require accessing the menu selections, I expect few will use them, except in cases where theft and damage incidents in their communities warrant their use. The limitations I found included the power cord, while long, required some compromise because it isn't quite long enough for the run from mirror to lighter plug-in on my Honda Odyssey. Another added foot would have been perfect. The 3M adhesive pad is permanent and will be destroyed if you attempt to remove it. Two pads included for this price are not ideal if you plan to use the device in multiple cars or you make a poisoning mistake on first try, as I did. I mounted it to be unobtrusive, hidden mostly by the mirror. But, windshields reflections from attached GPS unit or cellphone cast shadows in the Rexing unit's camera's field of view. In summary, this dashcam is the best I found after review and research of more than a dozen I seriously iinvestigated from a long list of Amazon offers. It is easy to install, set-up and operate, complete with a tilt-adjustable lens for the perfect balance of panorama and horizon, produces high quality images and audio, and is lightweight. 4 1/2 stars. UPDATE: 12/15/2015 Measure a seller not just the product but also by the after-sales support. I bought two of these dashcams, and installed one. The other is a Christmas gift and we'll soon know if my experience will be repeated. So far, this little device has performed superbly. If you want to move it to other cars you own, you need additional strips of adhesive and the attachment plate. As other customers have noted, Velco tabs CAN be used, but only until the heat builds on the windshield and you find the dashcam hanging by the power cord. One email to Rexing did the trick and my request was met with quick dispatch of extra adhesive strips via first-class mail. This is the way to stand behind a great product. Let's hope Rexing continues that winning philosophy because if/when the item experiences a problem, and is out of Amazon 30--day warranty, buyers still influence potential buyers based on their experience, called "back-end sales". Already, I've recommended this product to friends and family. I'll update this when the second unit is installed. ( My only improvement recommendation is to add another plate and 3M adhesive strip to the product package and lengthen the power cord by a foot. And, a tip to future buyers. Clean the installation area on the windshield glass with alcohol beforehand) Update: 2/22/2016. I liked the quality..and customer service of the first well, so well, l decided to buy another and it functions as well as the first. As a backup, I just requested Rexing supply me with extra adhesive tabs. The tabs that came with the unit are about as sticky as any but, they are destroyed by extreme heat because Florida sun has a high UV content and you want to have extras on hand. I had positioned my first tab to high on the windshield and could not remove the unit without major effort. In so doing, If you are lucky enough not to destroy the tab, it can't really be reapplied. I tried it and it lasted until the cloudy winter weather turned to sunshine and higher near 85 degree temperatures. Then, the unit fell off, caught only by the power cord. Glad I had extras on hand. I've suggested to Rexing that offering extra adhesive tabs for a modest cost would a good idea because buyers sooner or later will need to replace the original ones for their V1. Tip of the cap, Rexing. Keep up the good customer support. Consequently, I've upped my rating to 5-stars as a satisfied and verified buyer. UPDATE: 6/7/2016 After the allure fades, some electronics develop issue or problems due to inherent flaws or use. Here is my experience after 7 months of use for one V1, and 6 month for the other. Again, as a reminder, the high UV content and heat of the Florida sun will zap, degrade, deteriorate almost anything over enough time. Anything exposed to sun, form PVC, plastic pool liners, car dashboards, paint, home siding, you name it. Some, when I bought these V1 models, I knew to be skeptical that they would last, as consumer electronics are not built to fully withstand direct sun exposure on windshields or interior heat build-up when you park your car. Surprise. Neither show any problems. The video and audio still function as new, and the cameras and housings look factory-new, with no plastic curdling or dimpling from heat or direct sunlight. In fact, a review of video files of my wife's month long trip from Florida to Tennessee and on to South Carolina to see her mom, and a stop to see our grandchildren were a perfect record of her daily travel. One downside, however, which I have addressed to Rexing. The adhesive tabs don't hold up to the heat and UV I described. Yet, when applied, the 3M tape is very sticky and adheres well. Just try talking it off, and you'll understand. But, in time, they seem to dry out and become less tacky, and the weight of the V1 - although slight - causes it to come loose, and you find the V1 dangling by its power cord. So far, this effect seems to only result from abnormally hot summers and mostly in Southern states, and could be a factor when a buyer is looking at competing models. To its credit, Rexing has willingly, quickly replaced the tabs with new ones. If this experience continues to occur ever 4 months, it could become a tedium. My cost-benefit analysis tells me the performance of the V1 far outweighs the small aggravation of replacement of the tabs, and buyers affected are not all in Florida. This all depends on the goodwill of Rexing, until a better 3M adhesive can be found. UPDATE 5/21/2017 Well, the good folks at Rexing have taken my suggestion (and I'm not alone) to heart and added a windshield mount that we hope will solve the only real liability I complained about regarding my first purchase, which is the adhesive tape mount won't hold up in hot climate, high UV sun states such as Florida.). Rexing, listening to customers pays off as I just bought my third V1 and tried it out with the windshield suction mount during a central Florida to Baltimore and return 2,000 mile trip. Result? Perfect performance for both. That's saying a lot due to the unbelievable potholes, unpacked rough pavements of Baltimore streets, the pothole kingdom. (If I was forced to live and work in Baltimore, I'd start a wheel alignment business. Baltimore streets are a series of potholes with just enough surrounding asphalt for aesthetics). The windshield mount never came loose from the bumps or tire shock. And the V1 performed like the others. Clearly, if you purchase the V1, buy the economically-priced windshield mount. For those unsure which grand to buy, let me save you time. I was determined to find the best on the market in this price range and spent hours reading reviews of the boiled-down list I compiled of devices with compelling features. I read almost all the reviews. There were downsides and reliability and resolution issues with them all. Those with crisp resolution in daylight couldn't match it in low ambient light levels. Some were balky in recording files to the storage card, others quit working after a short period. I wanted a new purchase that would swivel 180 degrees, but even the best were had class. So, I gave up looking. For my basic purpose, I knew from experience I couldn't do better than the Rexing V1. Experience and sustained performance of my two others clinched my decision. And, the new mount made it all the more a great choice. Unplanned to get two new mounts for the other devices. By the way, I didn't have time to check on a firmware update, and I'm in no hurry given the V1 performance out-of-the-way. UPDATE 11/27/2017: What you buy when you purchase from Rexing: Peace of Mind that they will stand behind their products. One of my V1 dash-cams failed. The battery became defective, as it turned out, and would cycle on then off, crashing the device and eventually corrupting the micro-sd card and not allowing the camera to show any video even when connected to power. When powered on, only black appeared in the display screen. I removed the card and reformatted it in one of my other V1s, which rehabilitated use of the card. When connected to power through a PC, I tried upgrading the firmware in case that was a solution. Now, the defective V1 showed video using the built-in camera, but the low battery icon showed a red "X", and a message, "low battery" although I had followed Rexing's instructions to try to charge it for at least 3 hours. But, the battery icon still showed the red X and when the V1 was disconnected from my PC to operate on battery power, it displayed the "Red X", and crashed from low battery. Not to worry. I would not be stuck with a defective unit. After contacting Rexing, they requested I attempt the long charge, and if the unit still failed to operate, they promised a replacement wold be immediately mailed to me. Good to their word, it arrived and it works perfectly. Rexing even supplied a postage-paid label to return the defective unit. After recently checking to see if there is another brand device which produces better video and still is as unobtrusive on the windshield as the V1, I'm happy to report, the V1 is still superior. In those cases with so much competition, positive reviews are crucial to help potential buyers make the best choice and Rexing knows it. So, bottom line? Rexing sells the dash-cam with the best resolution and has probably the best reviews because not only is the unit superior, but so is its customer support. And, after purchase, that becomes the biggest factor associated with your purchase, reliability and support in those cases when things go wrong. (By the way, the touble-shooting on the Rexing website is very helpful)

Not so great, Great little camera
UPDATE 5/9/2017: I am updating my rating. So this is long overdue. The company resolved the issue by sending me a new camera free of charge. The new one worked and continues to work great. As a matter of fact I was the victim of a hit and run on January 27th of this year. The driver was underage and DUI. He also hit 3 other vehicles including the personal vehicles of 2 police officers. Today the video from the dash cam, although dark because it was late, was used to convict him on numerous charges. Without it I don't think it would have been as easy since the defense tried to argue that no one actually saw the person driving the car. Thank you Rexing for the help. Now if only they had a solution for my new vehicle so I can monitor front, back and sides 24/7 it would be even better. UPDATE 8/3/2016: I recently was checking my dash cam for some vandalism/tampering that has been going on on our street. I intentionally park so that I can see the cars in front and the intersection. Anyways, in doing so I noticed that the images from the camera seemed hazy. At first I thought it was a finger print from taking it out of the window or maybe something on the windshield itself. I cleaned the round lense on the camera with a microfiber glasses cloth and then washed the windshield with windex and then also wiped it with the microfiber in front of the camera. Here we are a few weeks later and I checked a few times and the images are all hazy. I just pulled it out of the car a few minutes ago and then same thing. This actually the second I received. The first one was broken out of the box and they were very responsive and promptly sent me out a new one with a return tag. We will see if they will be able to exchange or replace it. I cant say I would highly recommend it at this point. Even at $99, it doesn't make it worth it if your images are randomly hazy. I wouldn't have even noticed until I needed it, if it wasn't for the kids messing with cars lately. I will update as the situation moves forward. I was recently involved in an accident while towing my companies commercial. It was not my fault but the person who hit the trailer tried to say it was my fault. Thankfully the only witnesses were police and fire personnel already responding to an accident in progress. With that, my insurance and the police recommended I install a dash cam. They said that if I had been involved in a rear end accident it could serve as evidence against the other driver if the accident occurred due to their negligence. So, I did some research and decided on this one. Besides having features I was looking for, including motion sensing, time stamping, auto on/off, higher quality images and others, it was the most rated on Amazon. I received the camera the next day in the evening. Right out of the box I noticed it is compact with easy to use buttons. Once I read through the instruction booklet it was time to get started. I plugged it in and it came on automatically. A word to the wise, if you plug it into you computer to start charging you will not be able to access the menus. It will only give you options to use it as a camera for the comp or storage. If you plug it in and turn it off you an later unplug it and program it all you want. I wanted a 64GB card for storage. I purchased the one recommended. It will say that it does not read the card when you first insert it. To solve this just format the card in the camera. Once this is done I went online and downloaded the free firmware update with a few additional features. Follow the instructions on their website and its easy. Just remember to format the card again in the camera after you upload the new firmware or it will always try to reload the firmware and will cause you to have to reset you settings every time. Once the update is done then you can set the time and settings and you are good to go. The one problem I did have was that the power button didn't seem to turn the unit on or off. After reading the booklet and thinking I was nuts I realized that the power button was the only one that didn't have resistance and didn't make the *click* sound the others did. Even though it was Friday evening I messaged Rexing. To my surprise I received a response on Sunday Afternoon from them apologizing for the issue. They also asked for my order info so they could send me a new one right away. I also noted that in a number of reviews there was a common complaint of the sticky pad they provide giving way in extremes, cold or hot. I asked them about getting some extra and they said no problem. If the sticy pad ever fails let them know and they will send me more. I received the new one yesterday. I did the same thing I did before and got it all ready to go. Although I didn't take the time to set it up in my vehicle, I can say from the "trials" inside the house the video images seem to be clear and have a high quality and resolution. I will post an update in a few weeks once I have had the opportunity use the camera in my vehicle and real get a feeling for its features and quality. P.S. The second one I received was slightly different than the one I received first. I liked the first one better because it was matte black with all black buttons. The second one is glossy black and the OK button is bright orange. Both are fine for me and I don't think it is that important to request they replace it again with the same one, but from their own comments on other sites they will replace it. Apparently there are just 2 different styles. Same features and everything else.

Outstanding for the price
Rexing V1 with GPS attachment I base my purchases on what the product description says the product will do and how that meets my needs. My reviews are based on how well the product meets that product description and performance. (My tech and experience level: High) This is a good unit. In short, it does pretty much exactly what it says it will do. I bought the V1 and then added the GPS several days later after finding it had recent become available. PRODUCT PERFORMANCE INF0 The V-1 records in 4 modes, 1080P, 780P and two older VGA type formats I played with all four and all give very good video results. The two lower res versions are, of course, more pixelated and not as sharp, but still pretty good. In honesty, I couldn't tell much practical difference in the 1080 & 720 versions. Obviously, the 1080 was a bit sharper, but for signs, people, cars, the difference was minor. I am using the 720 setting now. If you have interest in how big the files are for 3 minute loops (MOV format): 1080P: 320 megs 720P: 185 megs Both of the VGA types: 115 megs Obviously, you will need to use some kind of file sharing or cloud service to share your recordings unless you use a video editor to cut and paste. The GPS seems to be a good unit. It comes with a cord long enough to allow positioning on the dash with a clear sky view. This is essential for any GPS reciever. Mine gets a position fix and lock in under 20 seconds from a cold (unpowered) start. This is in line with full blown GPS units. Based on tracking results (see below), the unit is accurate. I never had any dropout of lock except when inside structures (normal). SD card - It says the unit has a max of 32g cards, but the text on the Amazon sale page lists a 64g card that will work. I got the 64g and have had no trouble. No idea if others will work also. Firmware updates are simple - download on a PC from Rexing, put it on the micro SD card and plug the card into the unit. You will need the latest version from their site to use the GPS. Software - a small CD is included with the GPS. It contains an app that is a nifty image viewer/tracker. You get a movie viewer that will open the recordings, pull info off the embedded GPS data and display speed and other parameters. It also opens a window using Google Maps and displays the track contained in the file and the current position being viewed. I used the app on two Win10 PCs and had no issues installing or operating. Mounting - I would recommend getting some 3M removable mounting tape (it's similar to the mounting tape included with the unit, but you can get it off much more easily). I've experimented with a number of locations and still haven't decided which I like best, so it helps to have the removable tape. When you mount the unit, make sure you have clearance to move the unit enough to disengage it from the tab on the mount. SUMMARY I wanted a basic dash cam. I think this one is a bit more than that. It's not a full blown professional vehicle recorder, but it makes no pretense to be. When used with the GPS, it does everything I wanted to do. If this is what you want, I think it would be a good choice.

Please read this review for why everyone should buy SOME sort of dashcam, even if you don't get this one!
I recently watched a friend go through the torture of having some spineless piece of trash sue him for the "pain and suffering" endured from my buddy "hitting" him. In actuality, it was one of those worthless insurance scammers that sped by him, swerved over into his lane, and immediately slammed on his brakes causing my buddy to rear end him before he could react and hit the brakes. They weren't going that fast and there wasn't even that much damage, but of course said spineless piece of crap suffered "neck issues" and "emotional distress and trauma" and took a bunch of my buddies money. After seeing this happen, I decided an investment in a dash cam was one of the smartest investments someone could make and started my search. After a lot of reading I settled on this one and boy am I glad I did! I bought a 32gb card to go with it and on it's highest quality setting of 1080 there is 5.5 hours of recording time from 32gb. More than enough! It's super easy to install and mount and updating it online is a snap. I've taken the card out a few times and watched the video and can say that the quality in the daytime is truly excellent. More than enough to read license plates, even at a distance. I also love that you can push a button and turn the screen off so you don't have even more lights shining in your face at night. There are two issues with this camera though: 1: The main issue is the nighttime performance leaves a lot to be desired. The quality is more than good enough to see cars and you could definitely tell it wasn't your fault if someone did to you what that guy did to my buddy, but it's very hard to read licenses plates. The glare from the tail lights and headlights just is a bit too much for this camera and most license plates are drowned out unless you are very close to the car. 2: A very minor issue that **cough cough hint hint* I hope the manufacturer will fix in the future with a software update, is the camera does not remember if the screen was off or on when last it was turned off. Not a huge deal, but since I always want the screen off, it would be nice if it would remember it was off when I last turned off the ignition so I wouldn't have to reach up and hit the little button to turn the screen off when I start up again. Again, not a huge deal, but it would be a nice change for Rexing too make. Overall, I have been extremely happy with this dash cam and feel it's well worth it's 100 dollar price. However, if the only thing you take from this review is the need for at least SOME kind of dash cam, I highly recommend you listen to that because I promise you that few things will make you angrier than some slime bucket who can't hold down a job who makes you "hit" him and then takes a bunch of your hard earned money. And if you decide that this is the one you want, I promise you that you won't be disappointed!

Not Bad - Not Great
Getting the frustration out of the way first, the unit user interface is about as non-intuitive as it can get. It reminds me of electronics out of the 90’s with multifunction buttons galore and secret routines you needed to get through to make things work. The “mini” USB connection shows the datedness of the hardware design. This clunkiness was enough for me to deduct a star. The second star comes off for the Wi-Fi. The app / Wi-Fi combination is essentially a difficult and useless means of downloading recordings. The things I need to change on my phone just to be able to receive the signal and multiple menu steps on the device clearly makes direct download (yes they do make USB mini to USB C adapters) or pulling the SD and reading it on a laptop easier. Why do these companies not pay the reasonable upfront one-time fee for including Bluetooth in their products is puzzling. Another thing that is puzzling is the recommendation of placing the device behind the mirror where you cannot see it, yet there are all these options of date and time and license plate numbers displayed as well as a boatload of icons giving you status on the many options. Also, the impossibility of periodic checks framing of the road; to say nothing about the inconvenience of hitting the button to capture and freeze an ongoing situation. Or to take a photo. I placed mine slightly to left of the mirror with the screen about level to it, where I could actually see it and get to controls without turning the mirror 90 degrees. Once you realize you are not in intuitive operation territory and begin to verse yourself on how to navigate through the menus, and have decided the app is mostly superfluous, the value of the camera is apparent. Great resolution, nice form factor, and plenty of options for the adjusted price. Full price not so much. It does look cool, does record nice images, and there are several different ways to download and review your images. It suits my needs well enough, but if you want to instantly get the horrendous accident you witnessed on You Tube, spend more.

Great Camera Even Greater Customer Service
*UPDATE* My father used to always tell me, "Judge a man not by how he acts when things are going well... but how he acts when things are going wrong." And I believe the same goes for any business. Within 24 hours of posting my review about my damaged Dashcam I was contacted by a Rexing customer service rep about getting a replacement out to me. Within a week I had a brand new camera and a new memory card delivered to my door. These guys went above and beyond to turn what started out as a negative customer experience, into an extremely positive one. I am very pleased and impressed by this company. Great job Rexing. - - - - After a near collision with a bad driver doing an extremely dumb thing, I decided to get a dash cam. I did my due diligence and my research and concluded this Rexing camera is dash cam for me. And I was not disappointed is a great little camera. The interface is easy to use and understand, the buttons are readily accessible even while tucked away behind my mirror and out of direct line of sight. The picture quality and sound quality are surprisingly good. Almost too good in fact; I had the great miss fortune of hearing what I sound like while I sing in the car while doing playback on my videos... perhaps I should use the mute feature more often. BUT, after having it for a little over a month the whole thing shorted out. I got into my car one night and the screen was blue, saying "insert memory card" Odd, because I had never removed the memory card. I fiddled around with it, and simply couldn't get that blue screen to go away. I dismounted it and brought it inside my house and tried swapping out the card. A new card didn't work either. I kept getting that same blue screen "Insert memory card". Upon inspecting the unit, I noticed that the frame of the camera had warped. The side was bowled out, and above and below the screen were a pair of strange divots. I've never dropped the camera or stored it anywhere too hot or cold (I have a covered parking spot during the day) and I've always used the stock cord that came with the device. My car is super reliable and I've never had any electrical issues. As far as I can tell, the camera shorted out somewhere which resulted in it melting from the inside out. My memory card is completely fried and doesn't work in any other devices... so there's that too. And to top it all off, I was ten days past the return date, so I basically have a $100 paperweight. It was a great camera... before it melted.

Camera is good.. but with some pros/cons
I am writing this review after almost 2 weeks of usage with this camera in San Francisco Bay area.. primarily San Jose. First i will talk of the current issue that i am facing. During my 2 weeks of usage, multiple times i have faced this issue where with every car start, sometimes the camera recording would not start. The device screen doesn't turn on although some light glows on it and blue light on the adapter is on. When this happens, the only way to make it work is by plugging out and plugging in the cable again from car charger and this is very annoying. Last week i sent an email to the manufacturer and in response i was asked to update the firmware version with latest files from their website. I did that immediately and am on latest firmware right now. After another week of usage on new firmware, i again started facing the same issue where sometimes the camera just won't start with each car start. I would say it happens like 3 out of 10 times but it happens. just like on earlier firmware. May be this is a faulty device or some software issue which they are still not able to sort out. I have read few recent reviews of this product and they also seem to be facing the same issue as mine. I again sent an email to the manufacturer 2 days back but haven't heard from them yet. I still have my return window open and would definitely try that option if things don't go the right way. Now something good about this camera and hopefully not everyone has a lemon device... unlike me. What I really like about this camera is the sleek design and the stealthy way in which it can be installed just behind the rear view mirror. I was able to do it easily but I would recommend not applying 3M tape with adhesive side directly onto the screen, instead first check where it would be right for your as you would like to leave some space on either side of the camera; 1) to plug in the adapter cable, 2) space to pull out the sd card, 3) some room so that accessing keys on the device is easy...... I am suggesting that because i tried 3 different positions before settling on one. 3M tape just holds fine and camera is light weight and feels sturdy. Cable length is long enough to reach the car charger outlet and the good part is that this cable has a usb slot as well in the charging connector which can be used if there is just one charging slot. Video quality is great during the days, although it is still not totally flawless in reading car number plates unless the opposite car is stationary or you are driving too slow. One of the primary reason why i bought this camera is to have the ability to read number plates of cars. The video quality during night is not good specially when the area is not well lit which is usually the case on road during night. I wanted to upload the video but the size is too high and i will have to edit it first before uploading.. will try it sometime later. So all in all.. It is good to see how camera works and records.. but only when it does. Because of the issue that i am facing and it is quite frequent now.. so i am not so happy with the functioning of device and that is what i bought the camera for.. I don't want to keeping disturbing my charging plug to make it work every time it fails to start. Cheers!! EDIT 1: Removing 1 star from my initial review since I didn't get any response from the Rexing CS when i contacted them twice after i upgraded firmware. Very poor customer service. I am returning the camera while i can.. don't want to trust them to resolve my issue. EDIT 2: Luckily the CSR contacted few after few months of reporting the issue and sent me a replacement unit. Really appreciate the response and good to know they are concerned by their after sales products and customers. I plan to update my review with the new unit after 2-3 weeks of usage.

So far so good. Great product
This is my first Dash Cam and found it easy to install although would have liked some basic instructions on how to install. So far, my first impression of this product has been great. Video Quality is also great although it just upscales from a 2K+ resolution to 4K.

Quality and reliability at a competitive price
The camera so far works well and it was easy to install and set it up. I find useful the WiFi because there's no need to remove the micro sd or the camera to watch and save the videos on another device. In night vision, with the city lighting, the number plates are clearly visible from around 5 - 10 metres from the camera. The mount is perfect: no risks of vibrations of the camera, easy and fast to detach the camera from the mount in case you don't want to leave it visible when the car is left locked at night, to avoid thieves breaking the car window to steal it. Since I didn't know that there are specific kinds of micro sd for dashcams, I found useful, in the description of the camera, the suggestion by the producer about the micro SDs that perform the best with this dashcam, in relation to its resolution, to have recordings as much qualitative and fluid as possible

Highly recommend im happy to have this rexing V1 dashcam
Overall, I love this dash-cam. I notice high quality video and picture in both day and night times for this model. Conversation records is clear when record with the microphone feature and if something happens in the car everything is recorded. Must have for all vehicles. Great for all occasion and emergency recording. This camera is able to record only front direction in choice of 720p and 1080p. Picture quality is impeccable. Crystal clear and the frames run smooth in both day and night time. Voice record is clear. I am able to hear passengers from the rear seats with radio on. A fantastic product. Saved me from a civil suit last week when some **** ran a redlight and tried to blame it on me. The V1 dashcam functioned as advertised and I am physically fine and mentally stress free. Saving and downloading a video clip is very easy. One night I was coming home from a night out, when someone ran a red light in front of me. I pressed the big button on the dashcam, got home, and in less than a half an hour from the incident (including the remaining drive home!) I had the video clip copied onto my computer, edited (using QuickTime Player, which came with my computer; the video here is the edited clip), and uploaded to Facebook with praise for how useful and easy to use the dashcam was. I highly recommend this product I will give 6⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
