GE WR01X11052 Spring Hinge Mullion

It works okay, but makes snapping noises. It's clearly not the exact part intended for our fridge, but it does keep the center column in the right orientation. The real problem is that GE does not sell this spring individually, though it's clearly the weak point in the system. You'd have to buy a whole new center column for around $100.

The mullion spring on my GE fridge broke, and I couldn’t find a part number for it, so rather than paying $100+ for a new mullion assembly, I tried this GE spring, but it was the wrong size. Oh well, worth a try. I found another spring on Amazon for an LG fridge that I was able to make work.

Did not fit. Wasted $14. I ended up having to order the vertical flap. Went to a local shop. No one had the right spring. Paid well over a hundred for what should have been a $3 spring. Check your local appliance repair shop before trying to replace your mullion spring on a GE door.

I searched for a replacement million spring using my refrigerator model (GNE25JSKBFSS). This product is the only one I could find, although the verification step couldn’t confirm if it was correct. This is obviously not correct...the new spring has a much larger diameter than the old one.

This spring fits the Moffat Fridge model MWS21FSKSS. I went to an appliance parts store and they confirmed on the GE parts site that the exact spring and mullion part are discontinued. Confirming to save others the pain… buy this GE spring part and it works smoothly….and voila, no tool required replace the spring using your hands. (GE bought Moffat I gathered…so don’t waste your time down that rabbit hole).
