Lion Brand Yarn Hometown Yarn, Bulky Yarn, Yarn for Knitting and Crocheting, 1-Pack, Peacock

I love the yarn. It works up very nicely, however, there should be two listings by the manufacturer. one being if it's classified as a tweed, multi-color, etc. 5 oz. 81 yards. 2 bulky #6 4 oz. 64 yards. The Phoenix Azalea can be under both. I bought the one stating it was 5 oz., but got the 4 oz. Okay, I will deal with that, but because I only purchased 2 skeins to make sure I was getting the thickness I needed for a bulky yarn, and being a different brand and still a Lions Brand yarn, was why I only bought 2 skeins. When I received it, it's only 4 oz. and it has a stupid dye lot, which means the next 12 for my project may be the same or not! I am quite skeptical that the largest amount I purchased, no-one will pay attention when they ship it to be the same dye lot. Yet in the order, there wasn't a place to put a dye lot number. I placed the order under buy again, hoping they will match dye lots to what I purchased. but I don't have the 100% guarantee it will be the same dye lot either. So as far as "as advertised", I can't say it is, without being able to use the dye lot number and getting more of it. Buyer, make sure you get enough of a product with a dye lot to make your project. That too, won't be a guarantee, but maybe it will be. The two I ordered at the same time, were the same dye lot.

I have just recently discovered Hometown chunky yarn for looming knit hats. This is, by far, my FAVORITE yarn to work with! It's not too heavy and not too soft, but heavy and soft enough to make GORGEOUS knit hats! The colors in pictures are PEACOCK & SALEM CREEK!I have worked with other "chunky" yarns, but this brand is what I always shop for! I love the variety of colors they offer too! Great price, too!

I had started a sweater project and ran out of yarn. When it came in I was so happy it matched.

If you are learning to crochet, use this yarn. It is thick enough to grasp and at a good price.

I bought 3 skeins of Salem Creek. Based on the listing of 81 yards per skein, that would be enough for my project. They arrive, only 64 yards per skein. So now I am scrambling, trying to find more, and I doubt it will be the same dye lot. Very annoying! So the LISTING gets 1 star.The yarn itself is very nice, soft and has a bit of shimmer to it. I like it very much. 5 stars, minus 1 for the listing error, 4 stars end result.PLEASE fix your listing!

It was expensive, and I was able to find it cheaper at other stores, so that impacted my rating. But this yarn works up fast, and it’s easy to work with. I used it to make slippers for friends & family, and they loved them. The color of the yarn is very versatile. I was able to change the faux fur around the slippers to match the vibrant specs in the yarn. The slippers were nice & thick, cozy, comfortable, and warm. I loved it but most certainly will shop around before buying more.

Love this yarn.. so soft and definitely chunky/bulky. The tweed variety is only 4 oz and 64 yards so make sure your ordering what you want. The non tweed is the 5 oz and 81 yards. Didn't realize until I purchased it, but it's still worth every penny. Great sale price for only $3.42 a skein. Would highly recommend. Hard to work with for the first 2 to 3 rows, but gets easier as you go.

The spice is more red/burgundy.

Bought this wool as I am a beginner knitter and find knitting with thicker yarn much easier. Bought this brand as recommended on a how to youtube video and very impressed with quality. Very good price and lovely rich colour, arrived in two days thanks to prime. Would recommend and will definitely be purchasing lots of different colours from Lion Brand again.

Had to purchase more yarn midway through my project. It increased in price from about £5 a ball to £10. I needed about 10 balls so as you can imagine, it was an expensive project. The colour changed from petrol blue to a deep aqua colour. A VERY dramatic difference. My project was completely ruined, unwearable. and Lion brand were completely unapologetic when I contacted them regarding this, blamed me, said I should have ensured I bought enough yarn before I started my project (I know this of course, I got caught out - however there is NO justifying now badly diffetent in colour the yarn became). I DO NOT recommend using products from this company under any circumstances. My time, effort and money was completely wasted, and Lion Brand were totally unhelpful. I'd give this 0 stars if I could.

This is a lovely thick wool. The yarn is thick enough to enable a tight finish but possibly with too tight a knit for anything wearable unless the product uses a large weave. It resembles when knitted tightly a piece of corrugated cardboard. Possibly useful to use as a draft excluder, footstools and/or blankets.

Have wanted to try this yarn for a while, it is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful colour and so soft. Have ordered a few more colours through Amazon, but it is more expensive than I usually pay, but I guess you get what you pay for.Have found it cheaper through a UK based hobby shop, so you can get it cheaper in the UK if you look around.

Lion Brand Yarn Company is a lovely silky soft yarn which has a thick texture, therefore, it might not suit crochet or knitting patterns which show a lot of detail on the pattern. It is perfect for nice warm garments or for those times when you want yarns that look just as good as the texture feels.A great yarn which I am very happy to recommend.
