The size 1/16" to 3/16" can hold up to 280lbs, while the 1/8" to 3/8" can hold up to 500lbs. **Q: Why does it say this; "when you are done using the camjam xt rope tightener, simply rotate the cam lock lever and pull your rope or cord upward"** A: Pulling upwards releases, the cam, pulling down locks the rope in the cam **Q: Camjam xt large & rothco 3/8" (9mm) utility rope - would cam teeth be able to bite well the rope? if not, which brand of 9mm rope would you recommend?** A: I would think so. I use 3/8 inch rope and holds well. Rothco is a good brand so I think you would be good with that combo. Hope this helps. **Q: what rope do you recommend to use with this Camjam?** A: I disagree with using poly braid - especially the hollow braid. It's been my experience that they slip because the cam can't get a good bite in the plastic. I've used cotton rope but now use paracord from 550 to 850 with great results. ## Frequently Bought Together - Nite Ize CamJam XT Aluminum Rope Tightener, Large - Versatile Tie Down Cam Mechanism with Carabiner Clip - Secure Hiking Gear Essential - Rope Tie Down Accessory - Large, Black - Nite Ize CamJam Cord Tightener - Tie Down Rope Tightener with Carabiner Clip - Lightweight Utility Cord Tightener for Camping Accessories & Hiking Gear - 4 Pack - Nite Ize NCJ-25-2R3 CamJam Tie Down Rope Tightener with Carabiner Clip, 2-pack With Cord, Black, 2 Count --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/15869530-nite-ize-camjam-xt-aluminum-rope-tightener-large-black](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/15869530-nite-ize-camjam-xt-aluminum-rope-tightener-large-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
