Lenox 853742 First Blessing Nativity Lighted Star Figurine

It looks amazing on my nativity set.

The Lenox start really adds a beautiful touch to the Nativity crèche. Just a few minor issues to report--the first star I received was chipped and was promptly replaced by Amazon. The light bulb inside would be better if it were centered in the inside cavity. Both stars I received had the bulb off center so the light shined through asymmetrically. I was able to nudge the bulb over slightly to make it more centered, but couldn't move it very far as I didn't want to damage it. Finally, there are no good directions on how to install this. I had to contact Lenox to confirm placement, and even then the representative wasn't sure. If I am remembering correctly there is an L-shaped brass attachment/bracket that slips into a slot at the back of the star and then hooks over the horizontal beam at the top of the crèche. It is a little tricky to hook on as you have to attach the star first, but the star gets in the way when you try to angle the bracket over the beam. There is a piece of adhesive foam in the box, but after discussing this with the Lenox representative, we determined that we should use this piece without removing the tape from the adhesive, just give it a snugger fit. You don't want to attach that permanently to the crèche as you have to remove it for storage every year. Not sure how long this will hold up before the tape starts peeling off, but once it is in place each year, you shouldn't have to move it. However, the adhesive foam piece is something that is easily replaceable. Once the star is in place, you have to slip your finger in to turn it on and off each time. In summary, there are some things to figure out but overall beauty of the star is worth the effort.

This star is a beautiful piece of China. There is a metal piece you attach to hang on your crèche. This was not large enough to attach to my stable even though it was Lenox. You may need to find another way to attach.

I inherited a beautiful nativity scene when my mother passed. After I put it up this past Christmas I thought it needed a star. This one perfectly completed fit the bill.
