I bought it when it was on sale for 20% off the regular price. The packaging was excellent, with 2 boxes one inside another, as well as foam padding. The tabla came with all accessories listed in the description. It also sounded good right out of the box. The construction of the instrument looks very sturdy and using good quality materials. I cannot really talk much about the sound quality because I am a beginner. But this feels like an excellent choice for a beginner like me. I was able to tune the tabla (Dayan) to C, but altering some configuration of the gatta's (wooden sticks).

The drums are not bad. They are of better quality than some of the other reviews had led me to fear. That said, as it is with most thing, so it is seemingly with Tabla drums: you get what you pay for. I have had a devilish time getting these up to tone. User error could very well be a prevailing factor - I don't know. That's part of the problem. If it was clearly a good product, I would know that it is me causing an issue. At this point, I think I am tightening them correctly (not perfectly), but the drum sounds a bit dead....All that said, I am a beginner, and will probably get me where I need to go. I can, however, see myself getting frustrated with these and upgrading...

Both Tablas were moldy when arrived. Outer bag had footprints on them as in someone walked on it. Sound quality wasn't good either. I had to return the product.

it’s a great value for the money. quality is a little shaky but the sound is impeccable. i tuned them today after receiving them and they sound concert grade. came to me how it looks in the photo, a little dirty, and packaging was not safe at all, i just got lucky, bayan is about 3-3.5 kg. there are pres of the dayan rhat dont have consistent sound but i am nkt a pro level tuner so i can’t speak for those, but the tabla are very nice to play, sound concert grade, and bayan tends to be tuned to a little high pitch from the box, but it was fixed within 20 minutes of tuning

We were really hesitant to buy these from the mixed reviews, but I figured I would rather go through Amazon vs Ebay for a potential return. My husband has been so happy with these! They did not come warped or moldy. They arrived in the middle of a cold WI winter, so he left them in the box for a day to let them acclimate to our house temp. We have had them for a little over a month now probably and he uses them a few times a week. No problems, no shapely issues or dings, and very happy with the quality. For reference, my husband plays 11 instruments and has been playing drums for 20 years and wanted to try tablas too.

I'm Loving my New Drums expertly crafted in amazing perfection. The book and online lessons have brought me new enlightenment and enjoyment towards increasing new skills of rhythm. I'm still learning and honing skills and understanding some complexities of seasoned drummers. Tuning and understanding tuning is tricky and should be done sparingly in attempting to get the Duggee (left Drum) to sound a little deeper to match professional recordings to follow along with. However, once you let go and allow the universe to accompany you; certain freedom of expression fills any empty space of one's body-mind & soul into a wholesome sense being.

The product smells of mold and mildew.The top part where it is played is completely stained and looks old.The strings and ties have so much mold that they are completely black in color.We received everything intact but the original packaging was such that the product was sitting in warehouse for years and since it is made of wood and organic material, it absorbed stains and moisture.The old stock should not be cleared at a retail price. They should either mend it before shipping or not send the old stock..

The Daya sounds great, came tuned a half step down from c# (I assume from shipping) It waS easily turned back up to c#.Unfortunately the Bayan came damaged.The Syahi was chipped, cracked and Flaky.I would guess it was from sitting in a Warehouse and got dried. The bayan sounds okay but playing it properly only furthered the chipping so I decided to just put them away and wait for my replacement, which thankfully is coming soon, and Amazon has made the process very painlessThey’re going to send a replacement, then I have 30 days to return the damaged Tablas which is perfect cause I have a full time job and not a lot of time.Overall the quality of the product is great for the price and sounds amazing and I look forward to getting my damage free set to continue this tabla journey.
