Great early Miley CD tracks, go for the DVD bonus tracks !!!

One of the big surprises when it came out. Talented as she is I didn't think it would be one of my favorite albums of all time since she just finished Hannah Montana and now I would rank it up there with any artist's best.

Miley has become a contender, she has a beautiful voice. I for one think she knows it is time for everyone to let her grow up. I love the grown up direction she is heading in with her next two albums she is releasing, Can't Be Tamed and Bangerz? I bought both on reserve before they were released to the public and buy any new music she releases. :-)

Miley does have a good voice and some talented writers/musicians behind her and proves it with this release. The bonus songs, too, are strong. The entire album is quite good and bridges that gap between her Hannah Montana life and her own career.

My daughters Liked Hannah Montana but they like this cd because it is still like her Disney music but not too far out of what she was doing before she went and did some crazy music. My daughters enjoy this and another cd of her's.

Miley Cyrus's material really had to grow on me. I think the first song that I mildly liked was "One In A Million" from one of the Hannah Montana albums. But that was pretty much it. Speaking of Hannah Montana, I really dug her show. I thought it was on the cutesy side but there was nothing wrong with that. As for this album most of the songs I can easily say I dig. This CD has a mix of pop, pop rock and even lightly touches on dance pop with "Fly On The Wall" which contains some of my favorite verses. I just love the way she sings them in such a commanding way. What first caught my attention though was the first single "7 Things" way back in 2008 when it was popular. It's a cute little pop song with a little rock edge about loving and missing someone even when they make you cry at times. "Breakout" the title song is also fun. The aforementioned "Fly On The Wall", the thoughtful "The Driveway", the quite pop-y "Full Circle" and the beautiful ballad "Goodbye" are actually my favorite tracks on the album though. They all have that special something that I adore. All of these songs are quite catchy too. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Hovering" are adequate but I don't find myself listening to them over and over (the latter is a bonus track). "Someday" is catchy and my favorite of the two bonus tracks. Overall, I'm pleased wih this effort. It actually surprised me in ways because some of it is so mature. For Miley anyway. I do wish she had a bit more attitude when delivering her pop rock songs like she has on the bridge of "Fly On The Wall". More of that needed to come out of her. But on another positive note I was really impressed with the fact that even though she probably didn't compose/arrange any of the material, she had a hand in co-writing 10 of the 14 tracks here. I love it when an artist contributes to the lyrics! I'm a huge fan of the lyrics first. The beat and everything else seems to follow as less important. 4.2 stars. I will edit this review after I watch the DVD extras. I'll probably adjust the score accordingly too.

I love the packaging of this Platinum Edition (a well-designed digipak with two discs, a booklet, and four polaroids of Miley inside). The album itself is great, too.

I'm a huge Miley fan. I did have this album before but it got ruined. The two new songs are okay. Love the cute polaroids of Miley that it comes with.

Un opus époustouflant ! Après son rôle d'Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus nous offre un opus à l'image de sa personnalité avec des paroles qui abordent le début de l'adolescence et des relations amoureuses. On ne peut passer à côté du titre "7 Things" qui est un savant cocktail pop entre l'amour, la haine et la séparation ; ce titre fut un succès commercial dès sa sortie. Cet opus créatif et rock est astucieux car il aborde plusieurs styles musicaux permettant de mettre en avant l’étendue des talents de la chanteuse. Le phénomène Miley Cyrus n'a pas fini de nous surprendre !
