Those using this in a car, dose it push you forwards in the seat? I'm 6'3 and driving instructor, my seat can't be moved any further back

This has only been used in a computer chair which does push you forward slightly. Dont know about using it in a car.

Can you use on a sofa instead of cushions?

It is possible, although there are straps on the back of it to secure to a chair or carseat. You could just lie it against the back of your sofa but you may need to adjust it from time to time. It is extremely comfortable and provides me with support when sat in a car or at my desk.

What is the purpose of the two additional spare straps? What are they for?

I purchased mine for additional support for an office chair. The straps hold the cushion tightly in place and I assume if there was only one strap the cushion may have moved about. Really pleased with it, good quality cushion and gives me lots of support.
