12/31/2021 Update: It’s been almost 2 years now and this battery is still giving me 1.5 hours of cleaning time. We are down to one Roomba now and have it clean 900 sq/ft 4 times a week. It just finished a job today where it ran for 1 hour 35 mins on a single charge cleaning the entire 900 sq/ft. We were on vacation for a month and the roomba got stuck. It went dead and sat for 3 weeks. I thought the battery would be unrecoverable as it wouldn’t charge giving me an error 8. I took out the battery, let it set for an hour and then put back in and placed back on the charger. It charged the battery and has the same battery life I had before. Can’t complain! 6/28/2020 Update: I have 2 Roomba 980’s both with this battery and very pleased with them. They have been 5 mos since my last purchase and 8 mos since the prior. Both batteries are running in 980’s and the battery over time has increased cleaning time. I’m consistently getting 1:45 on each of them before needing a charge and has been holding steady. The key for me was performing the full reset on the robot and then remove/replace the batteries. After going through a number of poorly made replacement batteries, I finally found some that last. 2/21/2020 Update: Replaced the battery in my second Roomba 980 last month with another Melasta. I reset the Roomba to defaults and did the battery remove/replace. I’m consistently getting 1:20 to 1:30 mins out of it. Quite happy with these batteries. 11/11/2019 Update: Resolved the 60 minute recharge by resetting my Roomba to defualts and then pulling the battery and putting it back in. Now Roomba runs for about 1 hour & 20 mins prior to needing to recharge and this with all of the default settings. In regards to the torn tape handle, it really is not an issue, just a quality thing. Melasta reached out very concerned with it offering to send me replacement tape plus sent instructions on how to replace it. Definitely giving Melasta an "A" for their proactive support!!! Original Review: After 2 weeks of using this battery, the performance is right where I would expect it to be. I have a Roomba 980 and when I replaced my old battery, it was not lasting more than 10 minutes even with the most eco friendly options. In order to make sure I was getting the most out of the new battery, I performed a full reset on the Roomba and configured as a new device leaving all of the settings at default (Power Boost, Auto Cleaning Passes, Edge Clean...). I have a mix of about 60/40 carpet/hardwood floors and after 2 weeks, the Roomba will run for 60 mins and return to the base for a charge. Seems like maybe a limit on the Roomba to run for 60 mins and then return to base to charge, but that is just a guess. The battery fit is much like the oem and if I had one thing to complain about is the tabs to pull the battery out. They are like a piece of thin duct tape folded over. Works fine but mine came with a little cut in one of them at the battery edge which didn't change anything, but hope it doesn't become a future issue. I will monitor this battery for another month and update this review.

First pack lasted a few years and i took apart first pack in case someone wanted to know what cells were inside. Looks to be 8 cells. Packs work same as original and probably degraded faster after I quit using it after getting a new romba but decided to use old romba elsewhere finally.

I should have paid more attention to the low-star reviews before buying. This battery does not behave well with my 960. The previous battery which was about four years old, was no longer holding a charge long enough to complete a full task, so I replaced it with this one. This new battery is as bad as if not worse than the one it replaced. The battery level reads full, but part-way through the job, it suddenly reports a dead battery with not enough charge left to drive back to home base. (Of course this always happens under a bed or couch.) Another thing I find odd, and this should have nothing to do with the battery itself, but since the new battery was installed, the 960 has trouble charging on the dock, as if there is a "sweet spot" that has to be hit. I did reach out to customer service for guidance since this is a few weeks past the amazon return date, but they have not responded as of this writing. Very disappointing purchase.

I’m one to admit, when it comes to my Roombas, I usually always go with OEM parts because they seem to just work better. However, I took a chance as I was hoping to find a battery that would last longer to clean a larger area. This battery was exactly what I needed! First, based on many of the previous reviews that explained how to replace the battery, I was able to get my 960 up and running in about 5 minutes. I would say my 960 now cleans about 10-20% faster! Additionally, the battery was over 50% after completing its job that was 1 hour and 11 minutes. I would estimate the battery will likely last a little over 2 hours in total. To be clear, like other reviews, factory reset your Roomba BEFORE you remove the old battery. Replace the battery, I added a small piece of cardboard between the battery and the battery door cover, then perform a hard reset again. Set up your Roomba and you should be good to go! The value for the money is fantastic. I cannot comment on longevity of the battery and keeping battery capacity as I just got the battery but I will try and report back. 6 months update: Still doing great, no errors. No decline in performance or run time!

So this is the 2nd replacement battery iv bought for my Roomba 969. Iv had it for over 6 years and still runs strong. my first upgraded battery i bought a couple of years ago and it finally died. I bought this one because it is an upgrade to my upgrade. I was hopping for even longer battery life. Well it worked as advertised right off the bat, and then about the 4th cleaning I started to get the "Charging errors, and low battery life". I thought it was my charging base, but after readings reviews there is a smart guy that says the battery is "short" and its slides down away from the contacts in the compartment. which once i added about a 1/4 inch of cardboard, it works like a champ now. i get about 2.4 hours of cleaning before it returns home to charge again. This is a good buy but do not forget to add some type of shim inside the battery compartment.

Update after even more use: This morning the Roomba was still running 2.5 hours after its scheduled start time. The charging base had been bumped around so the the Roomba couldn't find its way back. It typically runs about 90 mins with this battery before finding its way back. The original battery was good for an hour or so when new. I can't add any more stars, but I can state that I'm very impressed with the very extended performance. Definitely a performance bargain. Update after a few months of use: The run time has increased significantly after some actual use. It's now significantly longer than original run time, enough to validate the capacity claim. I'm guessing it just needed some charge/discharge cycles to take advantage of the extra current capacity. Regardless, the original rating is upgraded from four to five starts. I definitely recommend this battery. Great performance and a great value! Original review: In spite of the large claimed current capacity number, this battery offers about the same actual runtime as the original in our Roomba 891. Over the course of about four years of daily operation, the runtime decreased by about 50% as the original battery deteriorated. This battery restores the original run time, but no more. This causes me to doubt the capacity claim. The price on this battery is good even with the average runtime, so it's still a decent value. How long it lasts compared with the the original battery's four year performance won't be known for a while.

This is my second battery I have purchased from this company. The last one I bought was in October 2020. I have a Roomba 980. We purchased the first one because I could not believe how much Roomba wanted for a battery. This one let my Roomba run longer. It worked great up until about 2 months ago. The battery was finally giving in. I just placed the new one in today and it is running like a new robot! I am so happy that we got almost 5 years out of the old battery. We run our Roomba about 5 times a week vacuuming 900 square feet. It is very easy to replace.
