About the Actor Martial artist and Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen was born in Canton, China, on July 27, 1963 to newspaper editor Klyster Yen and martial arts master Bow Sim Mark. At the age of four, Donnie started taking up martial arts from his mother who taught him tai chi and wushu until he was eleven when he moved to Boston, MA, with his family. From there, Donnie continued with tai chi and wushu but soon also began experimenting with various others martial art styles, such as taekwondo, kickboxing and boxing, after developing a huge interest in martial arts. When he was sixteen, his parents sent him to Beijing Wushu Academy so he could train Chinese MA under Master Wu Bin, well known as the coach of Jet Li. He underwent intensive training for three years. After those years passed by, he was about to leave back to the States, but made a side trip to Hong Kong, and there he was accidentally introduced to famous Hong Kong action director Woo-ping Yuen, who was responsible for bringing Jackie Chan to super stardom and was looking for someone new to star in his movies. Donnie was offered a screen test and thereafter a 4-picture deal after passing it; first starting with stunt doubling duty on the movie The Miracle Fighters before starring in his first film, Drunken Tai Chi, at the age of 19. He continued his early film career working independently with Woo-ping Yuen and at TVB, gaining more acting experience, and then started getting attention in the late 1980s and mid 1990s after he was offered a contract by the D&B Films Co. whom gave him major roles in the well known films Tiger Cage, In the Line of Duty 4 and Tiger Cage 2 which got his reputation spread out within the Hong Kong film circuit. But after a while, the company did not do well and in the end went bankrupt which left Donnie with no choice but to go back to TVB and venture into low-budget film-making. About the Director Law Wing-Cheong is a Hong Kong film editor, an assistant director, film director, and actor. DOUBLE FEATURE TIME
This nonsensical karate movie is a throwback to the 1970s Times Square double feature karate movies the high-flying actors don't miss a beat, so you won't get freaked out by the Oriental writing on the DVD cover case this movie can be watched with English sub-titles. This is the kind of movie where you turn off your brain and just enjoy the action, there are two golden(excuse the pun) scenes in this movie that involve one of the main characters relieving himself of his body waste, in the very first scene you see his release of #1 and later on you'll see his release of #2, I got a good laugh out of that scene, sit back relax and enjoy this action packed DVD movie.

I love the action, however i did have to rebuy cause towsrds the middle of the mivie it started freezing, but the replaced item was perfect.

The movie is great. Definitely what I was expecting. Donny yen is a good actor, good supporting cast. This like a lot of Asian movies doesn't and don't get the press or leeway a movie from Hollywood does. If you are a fan of action movies with stories you will like this movie. Just remember that this movie crosses nearly all style of movie

I really liked it!
I really liked this movie. The past and present entertwining throughout the movie made it interesting. Lots of martial arts...my kind of movie. And lots of humor. I am hoping to see Iceman 2’s release because the ending was a cliffhanger. This is 2018...this movie was released in 2014! PLEASE....release part 2! Thank you...😬✌️

Merging yesteryear with today = ?!
I was excited to see Donnie do another time piece of olden China. I think he excels when you see his raw talent. Unfortunately it seems that Donnie really, really, really wants to crack Hollywood since this is a blend of yesteryear meets 2014. Think the Brady Bunch movies. I thought those were hilarious. However this I felt was neither funny not clever. It's ok, felt a little forced and crass. Stunts and camera were good, storyline wasn't.Also ... the movie left you hanging for the sequel. Not really sure I'll be paying for that one. All in all, an ok movie.

I very rarely comment on films but this pathetic bomb motivated me
I very rarely comment on films but this pathetic bomb motivated me. False advertising as the cover makes it appear another historical period piece with elegant costumes and lots of fighting but in fact its a feeble comedy set in Hong Kong full of vulgar jokes and swearing with total about 15 min of actual kung fu, so if urination and defecation (no I'm not joking) and boring chit chat are your thing you will love this, otherwise not worth it even if free(and we love Chinese kung fu stuff and Donnie Yen's other movies--e.g., all the Ip Man's).

Donnie yen at one of his best sword combats, excellent story of the Ming Dynasty and it's warriors of the day, should be watched back to back with iceman time traveler,

Wo aber ist die Fortsetzung?
Grundsätzlich ist dieser Film in ganz gut. Ich bin nur enttäuscht, weil er nicht abgeschlossen ist. Es gibt einen 2. Teil, jedoch nicht auf Deutsch und nur in 3 D, hm... Hätte ich VOR dem Kauf gewusst, dass dieser Film nicht abgeschlossen ist bzw. die Fortsetzung nicht zu kaufen gibt, hätte ich diesen Film nicht gekauft. Ich kann doch nicht bei jedem Film der mich interessiert erst prüfen ob es eine abgeschlossene Story ist und ob es Fortsetzungen gibt. Echt schade ☹
