One of the best purchases Iโve ever made for my media system
I grabbed this on prime day for ยฃ101 and WOW am I glad I picked this up. Itโs totally elevated my hifi system and modernised it. Absolutely quick and easy to set up and tune. Absolutely no tuning issues with dab and as everything is internet radio these days and for ease of use itโs just miles above other formats. Spotify connect is amazing and convenient plus the UNDOK app takes this whole thing to another level. It looks so nice and expensive in the silver colour and matches my turntable well. The remote is well designed and easy to use. The whole system is easy to navigate. I canโt fault this item one bit.

Great Tuner
Plays pretty much everything and the sound through my AV amp connected via the optical output is excellent. The Music Player picks up my NAS and has no problem playing my playlists or whole albums and the sound is really good with no glitches my only minor gripe is the tiny gap between tracks which is really only noticeable on Live Albums. The choice of stations on the internet radio seems endless with thousands maybe millions available worldwide these can be sorted by country or genre with music to suit all tastes, Iโve also found a number of stations I used to listen to on my phone that now seem to be unavailable are actually playable through the Fitzwilliam. I can also search with my mobile and add them to my favourites in fact this where the linked mobile app really comes into its own.Iโve removed the attached DAB aerial as I have an aerial outside, this tuner has replaced an old DAB one and it seems to pull in even more stations with no loss of quality I can even pick up stations transmitting over 75 miles away. The display is as per standard DAB fare but the station logos is a nice touch. The FM section works fine although I donโt really listen to many stations on FM preferring Planet Rock and other stations only on DABSpotify connect works as it should I have a Premium account so can listen to all the latest releases through this attached to my AV amp, Iโm a music purchaser and use Spotify in the main to audition new releases to help me decide if I should buy the physical album and for this the Fitzwilliam provides a way of playing the tracks in high quality making the decision easier. Iโve not tried Bluetooth yet but Iโm sure it works fine.In summary I think the Majority Fitzwilliam looks good in my AV Rack alongside much more expensive equipment and it also sounds great and the feature set make it something of a bargain I would highly recommend it.

The Fitz Is The Swiss Army Knife Of Audio!
More often than not, any purchase I make takes ages, months sometimes. I carefully read all the manufacturers specs, and contrast them with Customer Reviews. This was a surprise. It took me just a single hour to study it, and one incredible customer review blew my mind. So I purchased it (using a Gift Card I got at Christmas!).Where to start with the Fitz? Usually a machine that boasts all these features will, upon receiving the unit, turn out to be crap - loaded with false hope and features that aren't *exactly* as cool as the breathless PR departments hype them to be. But in *this* case (and honestly, I've had this only two days up to present) they ARE all true. And they work. And they impress.Okay, I'm assuming here that you've already read and soaked in what the Fitz can do. So I'm not going to irritate you by listing them. That's not my job. I'm here to tell you what *I* feel about this "does everything, and does it well" sound system unit.My setup is simple: A thing makes sound (TV monitor, Fitz, etc) is wired to an audio mixer to balance the sound levels, then a graphic equaliser to get the best from the audio, and then out to powered speakers (these are very old, still sounding great after FIFTEEN years, but functionally too simple now). That's it.So the Fitz is placed on a shelf, and currently connected via the supplied 3.5mm to two RCA phono cable. I am going to replace this cable. Not a fault at all - it funnels audio signals perfectly and would be fine for most users. But I love me a really good cable (see my other reviews) so I'll be placing an order for oxygen-free, multi-stranded, gold plated connectors really soon. I know. I can't help it. Let me have my quirks. It does ALL THE THINGS mentioned in the specs, and does them incredibly well. As I said, you MUST read the Customer Reviews to see how this machine is well loved. *I* love my Fitz. The audio is superb. Spotify Connect is so handy. I love Internet Radio, and here are my favourite 40 stations fully programmed - simply. It has Bluetooth and AUX IN but I've not used them... yet!So, here's my little summary (moans of joy from the gallery): Get it, set it, and be blown away by it. I've included a few piccies for you, just so you can imagine it sitting on your shelf. I bought mine during a "Lightning Sale" on Amazon, but it's seriously worth it at the full price. The Fitz is the future of sound control and the evolution of audio; from the gramophone to the music centre to the MP3 player to "onlines" like Spotify... To the future! I am keeping this beastie as long as I can, I love it!

Very Good But Not Perfect
I was an early adopter of DAB radio with three DAB radios including a nice hi-fi model hooked up to my stereo system. Then of course DAB+ slowly took over and the stations that I listened to started to move over to DAB+ leaving me with very little station choice. The roof aerial for my hi-fi FM radio started to fall apart leaving me with a problem there as well. That's where this little beauty came in and at a very reasonable price. It's very good but not perfect hence the four star review. It's very easy to install and looks good. It has more features than I will probably need so there's no problem there. The internet radio works perfectly and gives a very good sound. The aerial doesn't work very well where I am due to my location. I think that it would have been a good idea to have a socket for an external aerial and it seems a bit mean to not include it as everything else seems to have been thought of.After a few weeks of trying the DAB+ stations and having mixed results I decided to strip some of my roof aerial cable to the bare wire and wrap that around the built in aerial. I then wrapped some tape around the wire to keep a good contact and keep it from making contact with anything else. This has worked perfectly and I can now get full enjoyment out of the DAB function. Please be careful if you try this method. The remote works fine but I do have to stand right in front of the unit to make it respond. I've found that EQ settings don't make much difference so I don't bother with that function. If you do use the EQ settings I had to reset it after every change of function which was a bit annoying.Having said all of that I am pleased with the overall performance and I consider it good value for money.

Great Sound, Easy to Use.
I purchased this to replace on old Avox receiver that was about to cease operation. It was working fine, but the internet portal that provided its function was about to shut down leaving it about as useful as a house brick. I needed a replacement urgently and this looked good value and does everything I needed, plus some more. However, I was not expecting the receiver to be as good as it has proved to be. We live in a very poor reception area for radio where FM without a roof aerial is non-existent, and DAB only just about works on the strongest stations. You can imagine how surprised I was when starting up the Fitzwilliam and scanning DAB to discover that it found everything on the local multiplexes in great quality - well great for DAB. FM still was not able to provide a peep. Still, with DAB and Internet Radio I was well pleased. The unit is so easy to set up and was soon pulling off stations from the internet, of which there are literally thousands to choose from.I have been an audio enthusiast for most of my adult life and, in my working days, managed Hi-Fi stores and even worked as an audio engineer for a period. So all this to say I know a good piece of kit when I see (and hear) it. Obviously it's not going to perform as well as kit costing four or five times its price, but how Majestic, a UK company, is able to do it for this price amazes me. Yes, the screen is a little small and fiddly for sorting through large collections of music stored on a local NAS, but it does the job really well and plays all my FLAC files and sounds great. Incidentally, I play the unit through my Yamaha amp and B&W CM1 speakers. The product was designed in Cambridge and built overseas, so it was nice to be able to support a British company.

Majority Fitzwilliam 2024.
Absolutely blown away by this Majority Fitzwilliam 2024. Been looking for a while to update my separate system to play Bluetooth and USB music. Hadn't a clue what they would be called in order to search for them, only found the cheap add on little boxes. Then by accident I came across the MF 2024 exactly what I wanted AND much more, in silver and on offer, reduced by ยฃ30. To be honest I was sceptical, an unknown make at a knockdown price so I read the reviews. Funny how sometimes the negatives seem to stick more despite its 72% 5* positive. Decision time! Knowing that Amazon offers don't last long I thought just go for it, it can always go back, a bit of a faff but do-able. I opted for Amazon outer packaging as an extra precaution against any knocks or damage in transit, To my surprise it arrived in a large brown paper bag, not a cardboard box but at least it kept the players outer box clean. The players box was well packed with cardboard inside and the player itself was in a cotton bag. The player looks well made and isn't exceptionally light in weight as some have commented. So out with the old dial tuner and in with the new. Internet connected wirelessly (no hadwire port) 3rd attempt but that was a mix of me not understanding some terminology on the player and the instructions being a bit vague, (in my opinion) on this part of set up. There's a retractable ariel for FM and DAB+ which I couldnt raise fully because of my stack shelves so I extended it at 45 degrees across the back of the player to the width of my shelves. Picked up FM and DAB+ no problem. I stored some stations and hit play. The sound is amazing through my amp and speakers, better than anticipated, with options to tweak. I like my bass it has it. The rest is crisp and clear. The USB (up to 128k) plays my tunes well. The Internet radio is fantastic, when combined with Airable (free but requires log in on another device) it's even better, so many worldwide radio stations even some (Saudi) dedicated to individual artists and bands, non stop (Essential). Plus you can search by genre, or whatever, just save on your external device and by magic they are also saved on the player. I can't get enough of the Internet radio. It also does Podcasts but as yet untried as is Bluetooth. There's even a remote control for armchair enthusiasts. In a nutshell to date it's one of the best things I have recently bought. It's upgraded my separates system beyond what I originally wanted it to do but I am so glad it has because it has all the extra functions, and sounds so well. If anything changes I'll let you know. It also comes with a claimable 3 year warranty. Go for it!

Brilliant bit of kit
I love this thing.I have DAB radio in the car but not on my HiFi in my home-office and I've been missing the choice of radio stations on my old FM tuner. Bought this Fitzwilliam to go with an old amplifier and set of speakers I had.Its really easy to set up - I had it playing Internet Radio and looking for DAB stations about 5mins after getting it out of the box. The display panel on the front is bright and clear, and the text is big enough to read easily.FM and DAB reception in my room is not good with the telescopic antenna that comes included. It looks like the screw-type F connector so I should be able to unscrew it and change if for a better one.Connecting to my home WiFi was a breeze. Signal strength is OK but not brilliant compared to other devices in my home-office (laptop, mobile phone), but I don't think the WiFi antenna is changeable so I'm stuck with it. Its good enough for the audio to be clear, just not showing on the display as a strong signal.I like that its got its own volume control because the old amplifier I've connected it to doesn't have a remote control, but the Fitzwilliam does so I can adjust the volume or mute when I have to take a phonecall etc without moving from my desk.Bluetooth is also easy to connect and works like a charm. Same with MP3's on a USB stick. Its got Spotify built in but I haven't played with that yet.All in all I'm very impressed!

Lightweight build but a good budget internet radio tuner.
My 2006 Sony ST-SDB900 has become virtually obsolete as it offers only DAB and not DAB+.On a recent trip to Cornwall I took our normal DAB+ travel radio, only to find that, because we were in the sticks, it picked up virtually nothing! It got me thinking and Internet Radio is the definite way forward. Not only is the sound quality better than DAB, but the signal is all or nothing so, provided you have decent internet and wi-fi it seems a no brainer!I now have the Ruark R1S in the bedroom and a Revo SuperConnect in a downstairs study but my main separates system was next in line for bringing into the 21st century!I could only identify 3 separate sized (430mm wide) contenders. The Cambridge Audio CXN100 (which is ยฃ900 and only comes in silver so fortunately that was out of the running!), this Majority Fitzwilliam and an Audizio Adria which if I am honest I have also ordered and will keep my preferred model of the latter 2. However it doesn't arrive for another 2 days.In the meantime the Majority. Well, it's the cheapest of the 3. Looks nice but feels very lightweight. Software seems similar to my Revo radio.Set it up and at first thought I had a dud as there was no sound! Turns out (bizarrely) the right dial is volume/gain so whacked that up to full to give it a good line signal to the amp.I also used the UNDOK app to add stations and set presets - it's less cumbersome than using the left dial on the fascia.Seems great so far. I love the little colour screen which gives it a quality look at least. Sound to my ears is fine (radio is never going to compete with CD or vinyl sources so talk of sound quality is contextual).I won't use the alarm features so it does more than I need. Now the DAB aerial. People have mentioned this. I had to use long nose pliers to twist and remove it but that was nowhere near as arduous as using aforementioned pliers to then screw in my outside aerial cable! Seems a dumb design to recess these sockets....Anyway, overall - fab. I am delighted with it.So does anyone want to buy a well-cared for second hand Sony ST-SDB900? ๐
