Best tool on the boat, great quality
We use a mooring ball and this makes tying up so much easier. We used it (fully retracted) to grab the mooring buoy in a storm with high winds and choppy waves. It did an awesome job and if it was going to fail, that was it's chance, but it did not.If you are dealing with heavy loads or big boats, do not try to use it extended because it loses it's strength. If you are familiar with boating you will know they are designed to be used for loads when retracted. But extended is great for grabbing a dock line, something that fell overboard or anything else out of reach. For $38 this is well worth the price.

Truck Owner's Friend
If you have a truck, you know how inconvenient it can be to get a small item from the front of the bed. This works fine without having to remove the bed cover. Secret I learned, if you have suitcases with retractable handles, leave the handle up and extend out slightly to get an easy grip.

Decent.
Not a bad little pole hook. It extends quite far, but gets weaker as it gets longer. Very light weight, but feels relatively sturdy. Quick flip locks make extension very fast when on the go. Good for pulling smaller items that go overboard, but I wouldn't use it to dock or pull a body out of the water. Tip when using: try to set the length to exactly what you need for the task at hand. Avoid extending farther than you need as it becomes very flimsy the longer it gets. If you pick up a six pack at full extension, it feels like it may break.

Aluminum shaft bent easily
This boat hook looked sturdy, expanded easily, but when I used it to push off from the dock the end aluminum section bent 90 degrees and cracked at the bend when I tried to straighten it. So now not usable. I did not use excessive force to push. Use it as a hook but don't count on it to push.
