CarharttMen's Traditional Welt 6-inch Steel Toe Work Boot

Good, solid work boot
Like most work boots, these arrived stiff and not terrifically comfortable. After a few days, they were broken in, and are as comfortable as any work boot I've worn. So much so, that I would sometimes forget to take them off after getting home. These boots are rugged, and well constructed. All the seams are double stitched, and critical seams are triple stitched. The soles of the boot grip well even when wet, and the texture on the soles does not tend to pick up pebbles or debris. I appreciate the steel shank in the soles, too. Not only does this help with fatigue, but it makes standing on uneven ground much easier. I regularly have to climb/stand on steel beams that are only a couple of inches wide, and this kills my feet in anything that doesn't have a solid shank in the soles. If you do any work on ladders, etc., this is a feature you can't do without.I recommend you buy the replacement insoles with these boots when you order them. The insoles that come with it are fine, but I found they had just a bit less arch support than I'd like. I have average arches, and the replacement insoles fit me better. Also, the heel cup and footbed are just a bit better padded. They absorb hard impacts and fight fatigue better, but they're not spongy or unstable. The supplied insoles are still quite good, and I swap out and use them sometimes.

Great boot for the price
I'm a professional carpenter always on my feet. I've been through many brands in the past 20 years. Normally I buy Redwing but these are very comparable. Redwing is no longer American owned and quality is going down hill drastically. My last 2 pairs have come apart in the side stitching, had them repaired but same keeps happening. At one time they would just replace but now they try to repair, which doesn't last long. I've kept buying them because of the comfort. O decided enough was enough and tried the carhartts. They did have a break in period of a couple of weeks and I added Dr shoals insoles. They are just as comfortable now and are holding up much better than the Redwings. The carhartts are also half the price, my new favorites.

Comfortable and durable
This is a great work boot. It's nothing more and nothing less. It'll last me about 1 full calendar year or working in the Auto industry. Full time 8 to 12 hr shifts and home use in the yard. This workboot is about 2 lbs each with a steel toe the boots ready to work day 1 with minimal break in. True to size change out the insoles/laces around 5 monthsThey are not the most expensive boot but they are good wearing good looking traditional boot that works hard and is easy to maintain

More than standard boots
I like that these boots are comfortable although I recommend gradually breaking them in before working a full day in them. I appreciate the standards compliance for these boots. The steel toe is strong yet provides adequate room and be advised I went with the wide version. The sole seems thick and sturdy. I walked around a factory across liquid-covered surfaces for hours in these and did not have any problems although it is always important to be very careful on slippery floors. These are the best shoes I have ever owned.

Great boots!!
Bought these for my husband and he loves them. He has already benefited from the steel toe feature when he dropped a log from a tree he was cutting up on his foot. He says they are very comfortable once you break them in.

Does not last!
Purchased these boots Feb 26, 2024 and they didn’t even last 4 months. These are supposedly durable work boots but they are completely falling apart. My husband has never had boots fall apart on him in the middle of a work day like these.

Comfortable
I’ve tried a lot of different boot manufacturers through the years including timberland, redwing, thurogood, Carolina’s, etc and I’m very surprised by these boots. I gave them a shot because of the price discount around the holidays. At first I was skeptical of the leather. I’m a structural steel welder/fabricator and I beat the hell out of boots. So usually the leather rips around the flew point of the toes. But so far a couple months in and they haven’t shown any signs of real stress. Usually within the first month i have threads coming apart, doesn’t matter what manufacturer it is it happens. But so far I don’t have that issue with this pair. This boot does break in fast because it is a lighter weight boot. This is a good warm weather boot for sure. Not ideal for winter but I’m making due. Overall even if I paid twice as much as I did, they’d still be cheaper than a pair of redwings and they’re holding up just as well if not better than redwings.Update June 2023I’ve been wearing them everyday, even jumped trades from welding shop to HVAC work in the city. The leather still hasn’t given up like most boot brand leather does. The outter sole is beginning to loosen up a little more than I’d like but city walking is a bit taxing.

Perfect!
Little uncomfortable till broken in and I had to change laces because the ones that came on the boots were to thin and would break easily but other then that a great light work boot 👍🏼
