EcoEcho Organic Ceylon Black Tea - BOPF - Loose Tea - 1kg / 2.2Lb

I grew up drinking this type of tea back home. Great color smell and perfect taste. Great for making milk tea . Imho more than fair price for excellent product.Those who are knew to this type of tea make sure to buy a very very fine strainer or mesh strainer. Enjoy a lovely cup of tea in peace.I will buy more as soon as its become available.

First, if you are looking for whole leaf tea, this is not for you, this is not a whole leaf tea, these are tea "fannings". Hence "BOPF", its official grade - Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings which is indicative of its size and cut. Don't listen to those bagging on this tea calling it "dust", it is not dust which is a lower grade of tea-cut tea. So if you are on your way to have tea with the Queen, pick up some whole leaf tea. If you want an excellent quality tea that is certified organic, ethically and sustainably grown that will make an incredible cup of super potent chai at a totally sweet price (this it 2.2 lbs!) than this if for you. Will most certainly be purchasing again!

Flavor

The taste is fine, but the quality is similar to what you might find in a budget tea bag, very tiny pieces of broken tea leaves instead of large or even medium sized tea leaves.The organic, fair-trade aspect is great!Lots of bits of leaves in my Bodum diffuser and in my tea cup.I’m disappointed that I have 2.2 pounds of this poor quality tea to drink since I don’t enjoy chewing tea leaves :(

As stated in the description this is BOPF (broken orange pekoe fine) which means it is not whole leaf but finer particles. This is something to consider when brewing as using a fine mesh infuser will give a clearer brew. I have uploaded a picture of it in a small plastic box. The taste of this tea is bold and makes a good breakfast tea and the taste is not easy to dilute which means it will stand up well in iced tea. This tea taste and grade compares well with Twinings English Breakfast but is considerably less expensive.

I have been a tea master for many years when I lived in HKG. Never like to purchase Celyon Tea for it's tastes bitter. But this time the natural tastes and actually sweet and great worthy of money. Will definitely buy again.

Bought this for my son, he thinks it was made from some tea dust swept from the factory floor. No taste, no aroma, gave him hives.

After using Ridgeways Organic Tea for many years I worried about finding another tea to match it as I can no longer buy Ridgeways Organic Tea in Canada. Move aside Ridgeways, with a tea egg built for fine, loose tea I have made two most amazing cups of tea. The wonderful part is that I can use more tea if I wish and I am not restricted to the 3.1 g. of a Ridgeways teabag. This tea is far better tasting and I am so happy to finally have a stronger, delicious organic tea.

Good strong black tea, it leaves a little powdery residue in the pot, and also in the last cup, but if you swill out the pot after use and don't mind a bit of tea powder in the last cup you pour, you get a good strong black tea for a very good price. I like my black tea strong, with a bit of milk and Splenda and this one is ideal for that.

Mainly purchased this to feed my kombucha, works great for that purpose or just to make tea. Good flavor. Like that it is organic and like the size of the package

This tea is what i imagine must be swept off the factory floor of a tea packaging facility at the end of the day. In terms of aroma, colour, and taste it brews up worse than dollar store bagged tea, it is just bitter with a sharp acrid bite to every sip. The price is certainly competitive and i'm all for both organic and fair trade practices, but i will not be buying it again.
