Hornets HHBR5A Hickory Wood Tip 5A Drumsticks (Red)

I bought a pair of hornets when I was in 6th grade. I am now 21 and in college and those sticks are still usable. I love the way feel, the reverberation of them, the bevel and everything about the stick. I had to buy another pair. They are well worth the more expensive price. The only downside for these sticks is the tips go quicker than the rest of the stick. But over all an amazing set of sticks.

I bought this stick because I had issues with my stick slipping out of my hands. This did the job but lets face it... it's not the normal stick shape. So it was weird trying to twirl stick and it just felt different. It comes with 2 rubber washers that fit into a groove on the butt of the stick. I'm guessing they're for balance? Not sure, I lost one of them and it didn't affect them.

Perfectly balanced. Love the contour. Cool look even. Rubber on the handle sounds great when flipped. A little price but more than worth it when I'm. It breaking sticks on my electronic kit instead of my acoustic.

The rubber washers at the end allow you to flip the stick over and use on the cymbal for a nice roll. They work great for playing different styles. Not sure why they have not caught on more, but like you said the design is definitely takes some getting used too. I suggest getting the 5A's.
