TASCO20-60x 60mm Spotting Scope

I believe this Tasco spotting scope is one of the best deals around for the money. The optics are very good and focusing is quite easy. The stand appears to be be a standard photographic tripod, but it gets the job done. I use mine at the guns range and find it adequate for the job. Sure you can easily spend 4 to 5 times as much for the same power scope, but unless you have that kind of money to burn ... the Tasco scope is a better deal.

very unsteady on the tripod...difficult to get on target and stay....lots of play in the settings....would not get his again! waste of time and $$

Among the scopes I've ever had, this is a good choice for its price. I was looking for a scope to view hole shot .22 caliber and .38 to 50 and 100 meters. I have not had the opportunity to test them at 100 meters. But 50 meters work well, since the day is relatively light. The same power of 60x. The tripod, as expected, is bad in any position and does not support well the scope. Note that this review tripod is for my use, where you are not looking at the scope all the time but only after shooting. For people who will stay with eyes all the time in the scope (as for observation of animals, for example) may serve you the tripod.

The Tasco 20-60 spotting Scope is very good for spotting nature with clean adjustment for zoom viewing. The scope exterior has soft rubber coating for protection of drops and bumps. The tripod is very weak and plastic. I would recommend buying a better tripod stand for standing use.

Great Range Spotting Scope. Scope and Tripod are a nice package. Scope is very well made and sturdy. Tripod design is fine, butI have a concern as the tripod material seems not sturdy enough to,support the heavy scope. I will probably replace it at some pointwith the same type but all metal. Note: Scope, Sticker and key case all arrived per schedule.

I gave it three stars, partly to be fair, because I may not have put it to it''s best use. I was shooting relatively short range targets (25, 50 yds.) Maybe it's better a longer ranges, but I found the target very hard to locate; and the tripod and swivel mechanism are nearly useless for a steady hold on the subject. The optics( and I have used other scopes) are fair to middling. There seemed to be a lot of haze rather then a clear, crisp image. On the other hand, try to find a less expense spotting scope. You get what you pay for.
