If you need to make a fast exit due to an angry quadriped and it is really cold, how fast can you unzip the three zippers and grab your firearm?

I used to sleep with my pew pew in the bag with me. Couldn't have her getting cold. But hey the getting out is pretty quick. Really easy to undo all bags at once.

What are the specs a backpacker would want to know, like each piece's weight /total weight? Compressed size/dimensions?

Hi Dave, I measured the pack for you and it is 22 inches long by 14 inches wide in the compressed sack. The total weight is just about 8 pounds and I cannot stress enough that this system is one of the warmest you can buy and will protect you in the coldest environments.

How waterproof is the gortex bivy cover?

One morning I woke up in my hammock, sleeping in my intermediate bag and this goretex cover, and much to my surprise there was FOUR INCHES of water in my hammock but I was bone dry in the bivy. Yessir, it is w a t e r p r o o f. Don't spray anything on it.

I am 6'6" also, ordered the system for my 11 year old daughter, it kept her warm in a non heated shelter @ - 15 F . The only part of the system that works for me is the green 30 degree bag if you can find one in a long it is a great warm weather bag. I have three green bags, one fits well. All a great deal.
