Good Source of Information
I bought this book for my husband. Computers are his department in our house. He likes to learning new things about computers. He tries many different operating systems, lots of different software, and uses multiple programming formats. I do know my husband has used Visual Basic for some time and does keep going back to it frequently. He has other Visual Basic books from the "for dummies" line and he does like them. When he's looking for information, this line of books is usually his first and favorite source.

Great book for Beginners.
This book is outdated because VB6 is already gone, but its def good information to help do maintenance on old code.

I didn't have the patience
The book is fine. I didn't have the patience to walk through step by step. It worked ok as a reference, but it's really intended to teach programming start to finish with exercises that build on each other.

NOT for BEGINNERS
This book is NOT for beginners. All it has is a whole lot of code and no real world examples of how it is used. The book also has about 1/2 of the content about designing a user interface but that is the least important. It is easy to get stuck with this book and there are better books available that really for beiginners and teach concepts of Visual Basic much better. It is an OK book if you just want to memorize lines of code.

Saviour of VB
Oh man! I never understood what the teacher taught in the class until I found this precious. If you are a beginner in VB, just go for it. It is easy to understand and learn. I guarantee you will not be same as before when you finished reading this. Mark my word. I thank Amazon for a clean and perfect delivery. Enjoy the book!

Dummies does it again!
Dummies Guides, I could kiss you! I bought this together with Visual Basic in easy steps as a trainee developer and this was easily the best and most reliable book to study from. Being a Dummies Guide it IS basic, novice level, so for those who scored the book down for that I say: Well, what did you expect? That's the point! With the workable examples on the disk this guide makes the basics of VB6 easy to learn at home without any tutoring, and as usual the book was effortless to read, guiding you step by step and chapter by chapter through the first scary moments of a new language. Well worth the purchase, you won't regret it!

Dummy review
This book has a light sense of humour throughout and makes it interesting to read, it is not heavy going like you would expect but explains it in a down to earth way. Highly recommended.
