Clean cutting shears
These are very nice and very effective plant pruning shears. They are lightweight and easy to manipulate. The spring loaded action makes it so easy to make continuous cuts without having to open and close the shears. They open automatically. The shears also have a lock to keep them closed when not in use for safety. The long and thin nosed shears allow you to reach far back into certain thicker plants for accurate and exact pruning. The handles have a super grip and for a secure grasp while using them. The shear blades are super sharp for a very clean cut with no damage to the plants. The blades are also stainless steel for corrosion resistance, durability and a long life. These are by far the best plant pruning shears I have ever had. I highly recommend them to anyone who takes their plants seriously. They are a terrific value for the price and I give them 5 stars.

Good quality and sharp
I'm reviewing the Pruning Shears, Spring Loaded with Safety Lock | Plant Trimming Floral Hand Garden Scissors with Straight Stainless Steel Blades although the product I actually got for review was different: I ended up with the Larksilk Professional Bypass Pruning Shears | Plant Trimming Floral Hand Garden Scissors with Sharp Stainless Steel Blades and Safety Lock. These pruning shears are razor sharp and feature smooth and wide-mouthed movement. There is a safety closure catch on the bottom so they don't stay unsafely open.I use these to keep rose bushes trimmed neatly without tearing the branches.Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and think this will be a long lasting product.

effective on smaller branches and plants
If you're working on smaller branches and plants for some quick pruning, these are good shears. The long nose of the shears are useful in getting just the right angle with very bushy plants. The safety lock is easy to use and a nice feature. The stainless steel will ensure a long life and corrosion-free time of it.The handles are okay and fit well in my hand.

Just so-so....sharp but hard on the hand.
I chose these shears to supplement my Felco rose pruners. I wanted something with a little longer reach for my larger shrubs. These do that but I don’t care much for the action. There is a hard click against my thumb with every cut, no matter how tiny. The spring action defers to open so you have that pressure against your palm.I like the lock on these and they are sharp. But they wore my hand out. Plus the product has no county of origin anywhere on the item or the packaging so I’ll assume China. These are just ok for me, work to about a 1/4” soft growth. I’ll use them until they wear out but I would not buy them again.

Spring loaded shears best for pruning flowers
Lightweight gardening shears made specifically delicate pruning of flowers and houseplants. Not recommended for branches. They have a spring-loaded blade design that pushes the blade open after each cut. The blades are stainless steel and they include a safety lock mechanism that keeps the blades closed when not in use. They work okay when I’m pruning my flowers, but the design is not the best for branches and twigs.

Cheaply made but useful
This is probably the most cheaply made "pruner" I've ever had. It's super lightweight, with a metallic spring function and a very flimsy latch lock at the bottom of the handles. It is NOT strong enough to prune woody stems or branches. However, it does a nice job at stem cutting, so it's proven useful in the cutting garden. We can just head outdoors with this little thing and cut a few fleshy stems for a bouquet -- the blades are sharp enough to make a clean cut, and back inside we go to arrange. Can't really recommend it due to its flimsiness, but we've found a use for it.

Great for precise cuts!
I use these primarily to:- thin seedlings- clip asparagus- collect micro greens from my spring gardenThe clip that comes with them is handy and they come sharp right out of the box. I've appreciated the needle head design as they help with precise cuts while gathering or removing small things in my garden. By design and size, it should be obvious that these are not good for thick prunings - but if it's not, then you've read it here: these are not good (or even designed) for thick prunings.
