Perfect Gift During Pandemic
This cookbook was recommended to me so I bought it as a gift for a friend. We're all stuck at home cooking and I wanted to give her a new selection of recipes to try. Before I sent it, I thumbed thru to find some that will work for me as well. I live van life and I have very limited kitchen supplies due to lack of space and I don't have an oven but I still like to eat delicious food. It is too easy to rely on fast food when you live on the road. The author has an amazing understanding of how all of the ingredients work together and both my friend and I have made some seriously tasty meals!

I loved her commentary and trusted her instructions and ingredients
I read cookbooks as novels. Yes, I read them, but then my inability to accept a recipe without making it my own by adding or deleting ingredients or methods acts up. Hundreds (I've counted them) of books later, I can say Rebecca Lando's cookbook straightened me out. I loved her commentary and trusted her instructions and ingredients. Quite a feat for me. This is a guide for young and old. It polishes and modernizes some old faithfuls and, with food costs rising all over the place, this is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. It makes cooking fun, but it is a serious work of culinary art.

Good, but has amost no pictures included
I bought the Kindle edition and the green/gray titles for each recipe are difficult to read. I am a big fan of pictures in cookbooks and did not find any until I went to the acknowledgments section and found she thanked the photographer. I don't know how the printed version is, but the Kindle version has just a few pictures at the end of the book (very impractical for a digital book). It is an outstanding cookbook, but lacks pictures.

I want it now
I got this as part of a wedding shower gift and I could barely give it away. Since I didn't get to keep it I can't review the recipes based on taste (yet), but my time with it tells me I'll be ordering another for my kitchen.

Beginner's Dream
I am just starting out learning how to cook (and be healthy) and I absolutely LOVE this book. She not only shares recipes that are very adaptable, giving you the opportunity to be creative in your kitchen, but she also teaches you HOW to shop and prep. She also teaches how to make the basics like bread, stocks, etc. which has saved me a ton of money. I have purchased several other highly recommended cookbooks but this by far my favorite.

Good Eating made easy
Not just recipes but a fairly complete plan to eat better and healthier without use of the over processed foods we've come to rely on. The bonus is it's done on the cheap so you don't go broke. Recipes are solid everyday foods and special occasion recipes that won't break the bank. Love the basics and storage recipes and tactic, only quibble would be prices quoted but as these vary from city to city it's understandable

My favorite kind of cookbook!
This is the kind of cookbook you can just sit down and read, cover to cover. I totally love the author's approach to cooking: fresh, local, accessible and using a combination of fresh and pantry items, and what to do with leftovers. A joy to read and inspirational...makes you just want cook. Bravo!
