Loving the new Classic Corningware
I bought this piece along with the smaller 1.25L round and the 2L square. Used to have a couple Corningware casseroles with an oddball pattern but didn't like the stubby handles and replaced them.They did a nice job bringing back the original glass/ceramic pieces adding some modern touches. Really like the bigger, easier to grab handles especially as I age. Also really like adding the rounds like this dish which just adds to the versatility. Had forgotten how easily these clean and made a roast in this and found it much easier to clean than my nonstick dutch oven.For people not familiar with vintage Corningware like my mother used nothing beats this glass/ceramic Corningware and you very much get what you pay for. Hands down better than the French white stoneware that replaced the original line of this.

i don’t know why this size seems to have been discontinued it was the best size the next down is too small

Can put on direct heat.
I love poached eggs and spent some time looking for Corning ware I could put on top of the stove. This is very well made and I have owned it now for 10 months. I give it 5 stars.
