why does this watch band break after a few uses?

The replacement band I bought has been holding up very well. Far better than the one that came with my watch. The original one was so stiff an uncomfortable. j felt it would break so I wore it sparingly. It broke during battery replacement. New band feels soft and flexible. I feel it will last. I wear it a lot more now.

will it match model 24218 ?

Does not work. I have black russian diver bands available. INVICTASTRAPS.
