Very high quality, LOTS of light, and very energy efficient
LED bulbs have FINALLY made it. I've been waiting for that since playing with red LEDs in the mid 1970s! The Philips are the best I've tried and the price per lumen is among the lowest. A ten pack of 40W equivalent bulbs are cheaper but you usually get what you pay for and I think that's true in this case. These bulbs have a very bright color spectrum. It may be a bit too bluish white for some residential applications, but I'm using these bulbs in my office and I like them. I like a lot of light, and this is that! Philips does offer these bulbs in warmer color spectrum, and they still produce a lot of light. I mark the installation date on the compact fluorescent bulbs that I install and they typically do not get anywhere close to the stated lifespan. I've found that LED bulbs last much longer, and I expect these Philips bulbs to last much longer, although it's far too early to tell. I didn't want to delay this review ten years to see if they lasted as long as I expected. The older I get, the more light I need. The light intensity from these energy efficient LED bulbs is high enough that these would be very good in applications where you want a lot of task lighting but not much heat. I plan on using these for lighting in the shop, on various machine tools like milling machines and lathes, but they'd also be great for sewing, crocheting, quilting, etc.

Exaggerated claims that do not match real world use, but it's a good value.
I'm increasing the rating to 5 Stars. Overall, this is a great value and the light output is very reasonable, specially at this price. =========== On paper this bulb promises to generate light output equal to a 100 Watt incandescent bulb (Light output from a 100 watt incandescent bulb is about 1600 Lumens), and this bulb claims to provide 1500 Lumens from mere 14 watts of energy. That is an impressive claim, but it's light output, while brighter than 9 watt or 10 watt led bulbs (equivalent for 60 watt incandescent) its output feels more like a 75 watt incandescent bulb, providing light output of about 1200 lumens. Almost all companies in lighting business seem to exaggerate their product specifications, since it's a victimless crime they get away with it. Overall, it's a good bulb at a reasonable price, while it will provide better light output than 60 watt bulbs, don't expect true 100 watt incandescent performance. It feels more like 75 watts. For example I have a Polaroid brand 30 watt LED bulb and that thing claims to provide 2200 Lumens, but side by side in the same room the Polaroid bulb illuminates at least twice as much. However the cooling fins on that Polaroid bulb is huge and heavy. This bulb provides white light similar in color to bright white quality printer paper or snow ball (about 5000 Kelvin). It maybe good for putting on make up or doing detail work in kitchen but it might feel too sharp for late night relaxing in a living room. You might prefer a warmer color (lower color temperature around 2500K) for late night relaxing situations.

Decent Bulb, Very bright
I have bought plenty of the Philips 60Watt equivalent A19 LED. I bought the 100 Watt equivalent. I needed the bathrooms to be a bit brighter. These do the trick without installing more lighting. They are noticeably brighter than there 60 watt counter part. I have had them for a few months now. They seem to work as advertised. I usually buy the soft white version. I decided to give the more blue version a try. They give me a more a office and fluorescent feeling. 10 year life is less than some of the more expensive bulbs but for the money I save over incandescent bulbs, its well worth only having a 10 year life. Another bummer is that they are NOT dimmable. But one thing these bulbs have over other 100 watt LED is that they are standard bulb size. They will fit in odd or weird fixtures. Some other 100Watt led bulbs are much bigger and odd shaped. They would not fit into some of my bathroom fixtures. Another plus with these and probably most LED bulbs is the heat factor. These bulbs do not get hot. After hours of being on, you can grab them and they are just warm to the touch. I have replaced every bulb in my house with either the Philips 60 Watt Equivalent or the 100 Watt Equivalent. My electric bill in the winter (no A/C use) went from average $150.00 to about $95-$115 a month. That's about a $300 savings in the last 6 months of use. To me that's worth ever penny I sent on these things. Very good product...

good bulbs, not great light for kitchen
These bulbs appear to be of good quality in general, but this kind of light did not work out in my kitchen. If someone gives you kitchen lighting advice, be sure to discuss with them what kind of fixture you have. For example, I have a low hanging fixture, so having one of these bulbs like a foot over my head is just annoying--gave me a headache in five minutes. Though I have to say, I'm not sure that even if I had a regular ceiling-attached fixture that I would like the quality of this light. I like to see what I'm doing, but this kind of light threw off so many shadows that it didn't seem like it was accomplishing its purpose. Obviously I need a softer light. I know other people have used these successfully in their kitchens, so it's just a matter of personal preference.

Easy to Install + Very Bright
I started replacing a good amount of light bulbs in my house from the traditional ones to LED ones. The traditional ones don't last too long and have me having to change them every year or so. What I liked about these LED ones were that they came packaged individually. This allowed me to store the product without worrying about the ones not in use breaking or not. I also appreciate the design and sturdiness of the bulb itself. It doesn't seem flimsy or will break. It seems to be of high quality. The 100 Watt White light LED bulb was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted my room to be bright so I wouldn't have to turn on other lights. This did the trick as it not only lit my room up but it made it perfect for reading. I prefer the white light over yellow light because yellow light always makes me sleepy. So far the light is going nice and strong with no noise. It also appears to not be too hot when in use so that's a plus. The old light bulbs were always hot when you touched them after use. These, not so much. Overall, I really like this and give it a 5 star.

Perfect sized LED bulb by Philips!
I love the Phillips LED lights. I have been using them know for quite some time and have never received a bad one. We LOVE the daylight (bright, non-yellow look) bulbs the best, and I always put in the 100 watt equivalent. (I like light when I want light).....The size of these bulbs pretty much match up to the old incandescent type of bulbs, which works great for lamps where the shade attaches to the lamp. Over all, I will definitely be ordering more. At the cost of the GOOD LED bulbs as high as they still are (they will go down more in price as time goes on), I only get a 4 pack here and there, to slowly replace all the really BAD CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) that seem to take 5 minutes or so to get to the complete brightness. I hate that. These LED bulbs are, boom on, full power, no warm up required. I love that! Can't wait until my entire home has these LED bulbs in it.

Great bulb! Very bright! A little pricey though.
Review I posted for TIWIN A19 E26 LED Light Bulbs 100 watt: I almost didn't buy these lights due to the "75watt" rating many people posted about in their reviews. I'm glad I ordered them. I also ordered the Philips 455717 100W A19 LEDs from Amazon at the same time so I could compare both brands. The Philip's got great reviews too. Comparison: The Philips are brighter...but only by a hair. They tout 13w on their specs while the TiWiN's show 11w. So, 13w will beat 11w every time...but not by much (negligible). See the photo attached from our bathroom. The right bulb is the TIWIN, the one to the left of it is the Philips (the others are 100w florescence). The Philips is only slightly brighter (barely) and almost not noticeable. With just the two LEDs in our bathroom, they LEDs made it so much brighter. We have 8 bulbs total and I'm concerned that having 8 LEDs might require us to wear shades in the room! :) Conclusion: Both bulbs are great with the Philips only very slightly brighter. Because of the price difference, I will definitely be ordering the TIWINs. Philips: $23.45/4 or $5.86ea; TIWINS: $20.99/6 or $3.50 ea. If you just have to have the infinitesimal increase in brightness and don't mind paying for it, go with the Philips.

0 * if option availalbe. Terrible product, with 75% failure rate after 4 months
I ordered four of these LED light bulbs based on other's reviews. Should have pay more attend to the 1/2* reviews. Bulbs were purchased on 9/2015, and used as front porch light on a timer for 7 hours/day, since 10/2015. Others were used in the living rooms (3) for ~4-5 hrs/day. Philips claim these light bulbs will last up to ten years when used at 3hrs/day. At this rate, my bulb should have last 4 years and 3 months for the front porch light. Will, after using this expensive bulb for just 1 year 9 months, the bulb went completely dead. It did not flicker, just went dead. One other observation: after using this 100W bulb for ~4 months, the light intensity went down significantly, ~40%, compared to the new one. Two other bulbs in the living room starts to flicker after ~8 months, and eventually stop flickering, but light intensity also drop compared to the only good bulb, by also ~40%. So from the four bulbs purchased, on failed after 50% of the estimated life, two drop in light intensity by ~40% (like having a 60W bulbs), and I am left with just one good bulb. With 75% failure rare, I would never buy them again until Philips can improve their QA/QC. The package also stated (in Spanish only) that these bulbs were made/assembled in "any of the following countries: Mexico and/or China. Where are these bulbs made? I would rather spend more money on quality products made in the US, like they used to do. If we no longer make quality products in the US, perhaps companies should consider investing in Germany?

Excelente compra. Luz blanca neutra.
