I had previously had a gravel vac and thought that was good but when that broke I chose this one, even though it does the same job this one is so much better. Easy to assemble, easy to use, easy to clean. Perfect size, it's a lot longer then I thought it would be. The item is sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. It also performs much better then the last one ever did. Would definitely recommend!

The instructions on the box aren't great and prob a little tricky to set up properly (because a little bit fell of the tube that I hadn't noticed at first) but once its sorted it, it's simple enough to use. The tube that goes into water should be adjustable as it still sticks out my tank quite abit while in use. The suction is decent but suck up too much gravel at once it will stop quickly so need to watched. The opening is massive so if you got fast moving (and curious) fish then they may sucked up by mistake. Can't really complain much, worth the price and done the job.

Cleaning the fish tanks is a real chore. We have a 60l and a 30l, and need to do a partial water change every week or two weeks. Recently I've been finding myself putting it off more and more because it's such a chore with the old "jiggle-up-and-down-to-start" siphon.Then, a few weeks ago, the ball in the old siphon started sticking 'open', so the vaccuum didn't form when jiggling, so I decided to replace it. I tried a squeezy siphon when we got the tanks many years ago, but it was rubbish. However, this one seemed to get good reviews, so I paid a little more and got it.Assembling it was nice and easy. Didn't need to read the instructions. The length of tubing is far too long for what I need it for, but if your tank is on a shelf and the bucket is on the floor, it's perfect.Getting the suction started is simplicity itself. A couple of squeezes and it's started. Brilliant. The speed is a lot higher than the last one too, cutting the time to change the water in half. So much less mess too, the jiggly siphon splashed everywhere, and I was always afraid of braining one of the more curious fish.For the price, it's a time saver and I can't complain at all.

Very easy to use and makes a huge difference to the waste in the bottom of my tank.Don’t have to mix or move the gravel around to clean just have to put the nozzle down into the gravel and it sucks all the waste out with the water.Has been used a number of times and is still going strong. I am glad that I opted to try this one instead of more expensive big brand ‘gravel hoovers’.A must have for anyone with a tropical tank.

This is the third of this type of kit I have bought. The previous two had a flexible plastic tube. This one has a hard plastic tube which is very difficult to fit over the different sections when assembling it for the first time.There was also one connector missing. It makes controlling the tubing more difficult as it wants to fold back to how it was in the packet!! Saying all that - once in use it works very well. It is quick to start, quick flow, and with the end to filter the stones fitted again very good results.My personal choice would be to look for the more flexible hose next time just because its easier to handle - although this one might last longer with the hard tubing. Time will tell!

Sorry - this didn’t work at all - waste of money. Either the one I have was faulty or the design is poor. Impossible to get a suction loop going - and (even if you do) I realise it will take two people to clean the tank - one to work the suction pump and the other to sift the silt from the pebbles. Beyond disappointing
