OXO Good Grips Small Silicone Spatula - White

Wouldn't call it a spatula
It's not really a spatula but rather a plastic stick. There is no give in the "spatula" part at all, so the only thing it is good for is mixing something just like a wooden spoon. It is so stiff, it can't properly even clean the sides of the jar and cleaning the corners on the bottom is out of the question. Before this one, I ordered a "OXO Good Grips Jar Spatula" and it wasn't doing the job, so I hoped this one would be better. Same story. No flexibility whatsoever. Now both of them are residing in a craft/household box and maybe I could use for something else in the future.

Stress crack in spatula. No longer sanitary.
2-1/2 yrs of 'easy' home use, stowed in a drawer. Occasionally D/W cleaned, mostly hand cleaned. Not used for high heat cooking. Mostly PB or mayo removal/spreading. Occasional tuna salad mixing.I have many OXO kitchen products, none failed this early in their life cycle. There are multiple cracks at the neck of the handle... and at least one in the 'spoon' itself. Making the spatula un-sanitary.I have been a loyal OXO buyer for decades, because the extra money spent had been worth it. The positive reviews herein helped guide me to this product purchase... In my case, I am doubtful that OXO is a long term 'buy' anymore.

perfect
am not a fan of all the easily bendable silicone spatulas, let alone all the 12” long and up sizes. it seems that is how all are made these days so was happy to come upon this one. it is smaller in length (great for those of us with smaller hands or arthritis) and this one has a smaller head which is stiff so it makes it a lot easier to mix/blend harder batters like cookie dough, keto biscuit mix and so on. also like that the silicone material on this spatula is smooth and doesn’t have that sticky texture feel some have that attracts every single dust/particle around to it..perfect if you aren’t looking for a larger flexible spatula.

No Unsanitary Break Between Silicone and Handle Shaft
Soft silicone, squeegees all the food easily. And the most important feature, all sealed up so there will be no liquid leakage where the blad is mounted to the end ofcthe handle shaft. Will stain with tomato based products if not cleaned promptly, but that’s easily done, kreping them nice bright, sparkling sanitary looking white, so you won’t be afraid your guests (or you) will see unsightly mildew growing under the blade.very pleased.

Love love love!
I bought all three styles of this at one time, the jar spatula, the flat spatula and the spoon spatula. They are everything I wanted, sturdy and well made. And they are plenty long. It seems like so many spatulas have no backbone, the farther you get toward the end of the handle they flex with no back bone, but not these. The entire shaft is stiff, but the business end are pliable and flexible, everything you want in a good spatula. I paid full price and have no affiliation with the company at all!

Excellent stiff mini spatula for baking
I had the older, two-piece version of this spatula for many years and, due to various damage (my fault), it was time for an upgrade. The one-piece design makes for much easier cleanup, there's no risk of the blade coming off in a stiff batter, and it is just as stiff as the previous model (which is what I specifically needed). This is not the best spatula if you want something very flexy for scraping around in jars, say, but it is absolutely excellent for mixing firm doughs (shout-out to bakers who get by without a stand mixer) and thick batters. I also use it to stir/scrape brown butter and caramel out of pans and it's great for that.

Perfect for baking
Quality product. Went through a lot of these before this one and they were all terrible until I got this one. It’s the perfect blend of flexibility and firmness. Bought a few others in different colors.

Never thought I would need anything more than a cheap spatula!
I bought this spatula because it was recommended from a blog I follow about making sourdough. I’m so glad I bought it! I’m a sucker for things that look nice but this spatula not only looks nice - it is comfortable in your hand and is very durable. It’s pretty stiff except for at the very tip which makes it easy to reach awkward spaces. I love how it’s black and white and the logo is embossed in black on the black end of the spatula. It’s one of those kitchen tools that you don’t feel you need to hide away in a drawer somewhere. Multiple uses and so easy to clean by hand!

Robust, long lasting spatula.
We like OXO products and like most of their range this is robust and good value for money. The only negative is that for some purposes this spatula is a little too robust. It doesn’t have the flexibility of some cheaper spatulas and so can’t be used to ensure that every scrap of whatever you are mixing will be extracted from the bowl. That said, it is extremely useful for folding two preparations together, even where quantities are significant. I’m sure it will be great for hand mixing the fruit into a large Christmas cake or similar. No hesitation in recommending this item with reservations as stated.

Silicone spatula
I use this silicone spatula on my pots to prevent them getting scrapped or damaged and this is a great alternative to wooden spoons or metal kitchen utensils. I have found this washes well, it is sturdy and strong and perfect for everyday use. So far it has not discoloured and I have also washed it in the dishwasher. It has a non slip handle for easy gripping and a hole in the handle where you could put a piece of string and hang it it. My spatula fits in my cutlery drawer when not in use or in the dishwasher. I only bought one but may by another as it is very useful.

Small and very sturdy
Great product..Was recommended by Joshua Wiseman, chef on youtube. Small enough to fit in my sourdough jars.

Excellent quality utensil.
I love Oxo silicone utensils.Unlike nylon utensils they don't melt or burn during use and so last a lot longer and don't poison you with acrid smoke and molten plastic in your food. This spatula is wonderful for baking - it's so much easier to get batter or cake mix out of bowls and jugs using this utensil. It's also great for sliding between the baked cake and the wall of the cake tin / tray when you want to get your freshly baked items onto a plate or cooling rack.A great buy!

Little things mean a lot
When I was scraping hummus out of the food processor with this, I started wondering who first thought of making kitchen utensils out of silicone. It was a briiliant idea. I have a lot of spatulas, but I have to say this is the one I go for first. It has a vey nice substantial feel about it, and, for the job just mentioned, leaves the bowl almost perfectly clean.
