The USB port is covered by a rubber flap that swings away. Delivery & packaging was good. The downside is the instructions which were in total French. Someone else who also got this camera received their instructions in Czech & Slovakian. Luckily, I found a site on the web which gave the instructions in English. Perhaps a booklet in several languages including English could be included instead, as is usual when buying electrical gadgets.!! This camera does not come with a protective case but batteries are included.
