Really works!
I use this at a dog kennel to gauge how dangerously loud it is in the environment. It works great.

Very well made meter but not accurate when compared to calibrated sound level meters
Bought this for my professional sound system as a neat way to display sound level. Very well made unit and display is clear and bright. The problem is audio levels are substantially off from my calibrated equipment. Not sure why. 10-15dB error and reads high. Calibration adjustment on the device did little to change readout.Still like the device though and will use it if I can get it to read properly.

It levels out with medium sounds
It can’t take loud noises at all kind of a waste of money for loud sound but great for finding sound that will ruin your shoot. It’s still a good tool just a little over priced

Sketch
It is still up in the air as to off this actually works. We have get to be able to get it to work. It doesn’t seem to read correctly

A neat novelty.... but does not match up to my other meters
Bought this unit to help me with a study I was doing for a client. Sat this unit next to two other "regular" decibel meters only to see this unit read about 5-6db louder than the other two in the exact same sound setting (outdoor with nightclub noise running from around 70-96db). The idea was that I would be able to see this unit from a distance which would save me some steps. That did not work out. Also.... did not like the fact that it did not have a 1/4" screw mount for a tripod (only has holes to be mounted to screws in a wall) and the "hole" that the sound enters is on the bottom of the unit. Because of the lack of a tripod mount....I was placing the meter on light pole bases and then I had to tip it back so the sound could hit the bottom of the unit. The large red numbers would make this a fun thing to use to compare the level of applause at a competition... but I did not come to trust it for any type of serious effort where the number of decibels mattered.

Does what it's supposed to. Don't count on 100% accuracy.
Good for monitoring the sound level in my music practice room. Instructions, such as they are, are in English.
