Wrong cd packaged
I unsealed and opened the case and the wrong cd is in it! It's supposed to be the Facelift album but has the Unplugged album in it!

Killer
This reissue 2020 pressing on vinyl is killer! Opened it yesterday. It's a double LP, which have no inner tracks. The sound is pounding and clear. I didn't hear one click, pop, nothing my first run through. I cranked Love Hate Love so loud! Super happy, cuz I've owned 2 of the white wax unofficial pressings and although okay, they are really low in volume. This is not.

a dark, psychological musical elixir
Alice in Chains hit the big time with Dirt and Jar of Flies earning all kinds of critical acclaim, but the true, dark, gritty essence of the band can only be found in Facelift. This is when they were a force to be reckoned with. Overall, the music is thick, fleshy, psychologically twisted, and ominous with Layne Staley giving his ALL in every track, delivering an unforgettably scathing, visceral vocal performance sounding like a tortured soul writhing in hell. Jerry Cantrell and Mike Starr provide a feast of moody, distorted guitarwork, creating a disturbing, yet irresistible atmosphere that satisfies the ear and feeds the soul, yielding a compelling musical elixir. Sean Kinney perfects the sound with his intuitive drumming, knowing exactly when to hold back and when to rip into it. Like Staley, Starr, and Cantrell, Kinney is fully immersed in the mood and feel of the music. His playing is a vital part of the extraordinary impact Facelift has upon the listener. It goes without saying that the album is saturated with highlights, namely with the first eight tracks and the especially stunning "Confusion". Despite lacking duds, "Put You Down" and "I Know Somethin' (Bout You)" could be marked as lowlights with both being only a drop down in quality from the rest. This hard rock album has no equal, no better.....Facelift reigns unparalleled.

Finally!!! GREAT PRESS!!!
Been waiting for this on vinyl for a long time. Almost spent a few hundred on an original press a few months ago. Glad I waited. This press seems a bit drier than the original which I happen to enjoy. It adds more crunchiness to Jerry’s guitars. The vocal harmonies sound great and the record begs to be cranked up!!!Nothing special about the packaging. But there doesn’t need to be. The vinyl quality is great, dead quiet and I’m very happy to have finally added this record to my collection of over 2500 records. I am a serious collector and audiophile. I have a McIntosh audio system so if there was a problem with this I would have found it.

THIS SOUNDS GREAT
This review is for the latest edition Double Vinyl. I've listened to it through twice now, and this pressing is very well done. Great clarity. The drums and bass are full. The guitars are powerful. Layne's voice is prominent. Don't hesitate, buy it!

The best...
Alice in chains is my absolute favorite band. I absolutely love this disc. Every song is awesome. I really with Layne and Mike were still with us because they were amazing. Layne's vocals are one of a kind and Jerry is a guitar God. They just don't make music like this anymore. I love AIC with or with Layne and they still put out great music, this and dirt are classics that will always remain forever burned into my CD player 🤘

Incredible Vinyl AIC Facelift Album
The album arrived in perfect condition. Double vinyl. Very good quality on the vinyl, sounds perfect on my surround system.I first had this cd when it was released. Impressed by the band my friend and I went and saw AIC play onsunset strip in 1992. For some strange reason I was not expecting Layne to be able to hit all those notes live.I was quickly proven wrong and looked on in sheer awe as Layne went above and beyond those notes.Layne was up on the stage crouched like a gargoyle I was about 10ft from him just in sheer amazement. There was a small pit all around me, but I stood motionless in disbelief of what I was witnessing. My friend and I then went and saw them again in 93. Layne was such a incredible vocalist. This album brought me back to that 92 concert, not sure exactly who produced or re-mastered this album butit is one of the best I have heard. If you are a original AIC fan this is a must have Album.

Cheap packaging
What an awful cheap looking vinyl package. Can’t believe it was £30 and AIC actually released it!! So poor!!!

Been waiting for this.
Nice, double-disc version. Playing time each side is short due to it being spread over two discs. But this is good for sound quality. Inner sleeves aren't poly-lined. Non gatefold jacket.Tracklist:A1 We Die YoungA2 Man In The BoxA3 Sea Of SorrowB1 Bleed The FreakB2 I Can't RememberB3 Love, Hate, LoveC1 It Ain't Like ThatC2 SunshineC3 Put You DownD1 ConfusionD2 I Know Somethin (Bout You)D3 Real Thing

Brilliant Debut !
This is a great 1st album that any band should have been proud to make. Although it's production is more understated than "Dirt", It still is in my opinion on a par with "Dirt" for songs. "Dirt" has more peaks and troughs, with of course some standout classics. "Dirt" is a darker and can leave you yearning for hope album. This is perhaps it's only slight flaw, but then again this is only my opinion. Facelift on the other hand has more lyrical subject matter variety. I don't think that in all the years of listening to rock vocalists I have heard anyone with the artistry and flair that Layne Staley had - truly amazing! He pretty much covers all the human emotions there are to sing in this record. There are influences, namely Black Sabbath through to Led Zeppelin Listen to the similarity between Zepps classic "Since I Have Been Loving You", on Led Zepp III and Alice in Chains classic "Love Hate Love" and you can hear the influences."Man in a Box" is the other real standout track on this, but apart from these two, their are a lot of good tracks with excellent guitar playing from Jerry Cantrell to compliment Staley's remarkable singing talents Very recommended!

Grunge rock pleasure
This is Alice In Chains debut album. And it's a heavy, hard rock/metal affair. While not as lyrically dark as their second album, and ultimate masterpiece, Dirt. It nevertheless establishes Alice In Chains outside of the underground. ALice In Chains were more metallic than their contemporaries and it's noticeable throughout the album. Top songs include: Man In The Box (which was heavily rotated on MTV), Sea Of Sorrow, Real Thing, We Die Young. They became regulars on college radio in America, but didn't breakthrough until their second album DIRT. Which I recommend you buy as well. I just love this album to bits. This is one of the most important breakout records from the early 90's that helped establish grunge (and Seattle) as a force to be reckoned with. It will be looked back years to come as one of the defining rock albums of the nineties.

A must have Album!
Brilliant Album! Every track a winner! Not as good as their follow-up album, the seminal classic that is Dirt, but a great fore-runner in establishing that formidable AIC sound! Fans of the band will not be disappointed and newcomers should likewise be drawn in to AIC Grungy, heavy metal sound with which we all love! Standout tracks are album opener We Die Young, with it's cool groove and Crushing riffs, follow on track Man in a Box,another great tune and the Amazing Bleed the Freak, which you'll either be singing along with or humming for weeks! Great album. Highly Recommended. Get it in!
