So much better than sticking my babies in a travel cage. I have mice but this would probably be OK for smaller hamsters. Do keep an eye on them because once the lid popped of but I caught the problem (and Pepper) within a few seconds. If I hadn't it could've been game over so watch out.

My family and I got the 11.5 inch ball in clear for my Syrian hamster. We noticed a huge improvement in his activity level. He absolutely loves this ball. Before we were using a 8 inch ball, which was too small and it made his spine curve in a painful way. So we are very happy. We got the much bigger ball. He loves it so much. She’s always flying down the house with it and it’s a very well built ball. The best ball I’ve used yet and we have been through too. Highly highly recommend it’s worth the money. Also it’s adorable. How active and happy they get from it.

this ball is nice because it's big and I feel like my hamster is more comfortable in it than the smaller size balls. However, I continue to have trouble with the lid. It's kind of frustrating to get it to close and then right when you think it's closed one side keeps popping out. The lid came off while my hamster was using it but thankfully I was there and able to get her before the dogs did. It's easy to clean.

I got this for my pet Sherman, a rescue rat, when he was only 4 weeks old. He was only a few inches long at that time. Sherman is now 17 in long and still plays in this ball. It's a little cramped because he is so big now. He gets plenty of exercise outside of the ball. Yet he still like to go in it and has free choice. I set it snugly outside of one of his playpens and when he wants to go for a roll, he will walk in and out and let me know. Then I grab the top and just attach it and let him roam around the house until he's done. When he's done, he travels it back to his playpen entrance. Then I let him out.The ball is pretty sturdy within reason. The opening takes a bit of savvy to make sure all the parts are fitted together before letting the thing roll. It is easy to clean.Even though it is 13 in in diameter, it's a little small for a rat this size. I wish they made 15 or 16-in exercise balls! When Sherman plays in it, his tail seems to warp over to the side a little. It would be better if his tail could be straighter behind him. But since he only ambles around in it for a a couple of minutes, and not fast at all, it serves its purpose.He also has a 12 in diameter exercise wheel. But this ball allows him to roam around the house and be safe. It's worth it to see how He gets enrichment exercise and play time.
