Cheap, thin, plastic. Small. Not sure what I was expecting but thought it would be a heavier lucite-like material. Not really safe because of the way you have to hold it to keep it from sliding around the counter and it doesn't cut all the way through to the bottom anyway. You are more likely to slice your fingers with this than holding the bagel in your hand.Aside from being totally lightweight and not sturdy, the knife (standard bread knife) does not slide through the grooves as you would expect.Highly disappointing.

Not very sturdy and almost doesn't have enough room for some of the bagels. Way too expensive as well.

I bought two of these 14 months ago. Came back for two more and sadly they are sold out.HOWEVER...I don't use these acrylic containers for slicing bagels. They never worked that well for me, for that purpose. Instead, I use them to organize our bathroom cabinet. They work great for that!!!(I would have given these five stars except that they don't work for their intended purpose, at least not for me.)Our bathroom cabinet is not very deep. These first perfectly, sitting on the shelf like books (with the narrow end facing out). They're tall enough to hold items upright, like toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste. I love the open slits on the sides because they provide ventilation, allowing toothbrushes to air dry. I also keep a clean tissue in the bottom to soak up drips, which I change often.Each person's toothbrush is stored upside down to keep it clean, and each person has their own container. LOVE how organized my cabinet is!Too bad these are sold out. I went elsewhere to find them and I suspect I may have purchased the last ones available on the internet. Maybe they'll bring them back as organizers for the bathroom!

This is a quick and easy way to slice bagels. I use a large bread knife through the slot. Works like a charm. Some bagels fit a little snug, but then it actually a quicker cut. I would purchase this for any bagel lover as an inexpensive, but thoughtful gift.

The product was seriously overpriced for the flimsy plastic device that we received. I feel like it could break at any time or on the next use. I felt ripped off.

There's a reason this item is so cheap. It was cheaply made and cracked the very first time I used it. While it can technically still hold a bagel while I slice it, it's become a delicate and tedious operation, one that isn't worth my time. If you must have this product, be extremely careful with it. It handled a dishwasher just fine, but my steadying the sides while I slice was enough to do it in. You definitely get what you pay for in this case. I would highly recommend finding a sturdier, higher quality slicer. This one is junk.

I have had one of these bagel holders for years. I bought this one as a gift, requested by the giftee. It holds the bagel while you slice down the middle through the slot in the holder. It holds bagels of most sizes, but if you like really large bagels, there is a larger one available.
