Rio rosa mosqueta oil comes from the hips of a wild rose that grows in the chilean andes mountains rosa affinis rubiginosa, commonly known as rosa mosqueta. South american women have used rosa mosqueta as a beauty oil but scientific research into its properties has led to a broad use of the oil for the treatment of scars and other damage to the skin and it is frequently used in cosmetics designed to combat stretch marks, wrinkles, pigmentation and other signs of ageing. Rosa mosqueta also contains trans-retinoic acid. A naturally occurring compound related to Vitamin A that is also part of the explanation for rosa mosqueta?s effectiveness in the treatment of damaged skin.

Rio Rose Mosqueta Oil
This oil is easy to use. I find when I use it, it has no odor and does not seem greasy. The oil goes on smooth. I'm happy with this oil.

This product seems to work very well on my oily ...
This product seems to work very well on my oily skin without causing breakouts. It absorbs without leaving a greasy feeling and appears to be improving the firmness of my skin, reducing lines, and redness.

This is brilliant for scars
This product works on scars used over a period of time. It sinks into the skin rather than just sitting on the surface & works.

No tamper-evident seal, and other concerns...
First of all I was surprised to note that the bottle had no seal, meaning that anything could be inside the bottle. The oil appeared to be very pale which indicates that it is probably refined, because good quality cold-pressed Rosehip oil has an orange / red hue. The genuine product is also light sensitive, should have a use-by date of around 90 days and come in a dark bottle to prevent UV damage. This product did not! But since there are so many glorious reviews here on Amazon, I put my concerns aside and used it often on some recent scarring. After a month of intense use I noticed absolutely no difference at all. I appreciate that it could take months to have an effect, but with the faint smell of cheap olive oil that this product has, I'm really not convinced that it's what it says it is. In fact if I didn't have better things to spend my money on, I'd have it tested in a laboratory. I've just ordered a certified organic Rosehip oil for twice the price and I will be comparing the two soon. But please do your research on good quality Rosa Mosqueta and the various process that can mean you end up with a pale product that contains hardly any of the fatty acids and proteins that give it its great reputation.*Update - two weeks ago I purchased an organic Rosehip Oil which was twice the price but so very different. It's a deep red colour, and it smells rich and vibrant as I would expect. It also has a use-by date because it's a truly natural product - with no vitamin E additives to prolong shelf life. My scar has reduced in redness significantly since using the other product and I am now completely convinced that this product is bogus and a waste of money.

I buy in repeat. It’s a skincare saviour!
I have re-ordered this a few times now. If you like a skin oil as part of your skin care routine this stuff is awesome. Smells great, feels great on and my skin always looks better when using it within a week of applying morning and night.

Fake product
Fake product. Ive used this product for years and can tell you this is vegetable oil. Completely different viscosity and colour ro the real, quality rosehip oil which needs a UV proof tanned bottle if a true product. The price would be reasonable for rosehip oil, but very unreasonable for vegetable oil as well as fraudulent. This makes skin oily all day but the real product is soaked in very quickly. No benefits observed other than an all day greasy face that smells a bit like chip fat. This product is no different, probably worwe than you massaging olive oil in your face. And only to that end, is why I suspect some good reviews have surfaced. If those pleased customers onky tried their home vegetable oil, they would realise the same benefits. Real rosehio is great for scars. This stuff is shameful and a waste of time. I'm offended by this stuff being sold as something it is not.
