UK Drills - SDS Plus Hammer Drill Bit - Tungsten Carbide Tip, Fully Hardened Tool - to Be Used in Granite, Concrete & Masonry - 1 x 5.0mm x 110mm

This review is for a 25mm, 450mm long bit.This bit represents fantastic value for money.I was a little dubious, as price wise, they are so much cheaper than their competitors.But, I can't really fault it.It is completely straight and true. The tip is just a smidgen over 25mm (Photo).I bought it for use with 25mm plastic conduit and it makes for a perfect snug fit.Using it in a Makita DHR242, 18v drill, it went through a Victorian brick exterior wall in well under a minute.I've only drilled 3 holes with it so far, but there has been no change in appearance or sharpness.How many holes will it last for?I've no idea, but at this price, it's already paid for itself more than once.I will update in a few months, but at the moment, it has proved itself and I would happily buy again.I hope you found this review helpful.

this is a great little drill and did the job to open up some holes in the patio with a builder have not done the job properly and water started to accumulate. My friend and I use this drill to drill a number of holes for water drainage and it served its purpose well. It is well made it comes in a plastic sheath and is obviously protected from rust however on inspection I did not know the SDS required a separate charge so I had to use it in a regular drill but it was not easy. However I've decided to keep the drill as it can be used in another SDS hammer drill when I decide to purchase one.

I wanted to install an outdoor socket and security lights on the garage so needed some long bits to drill through the cavity wall; I ended up buying the 8mm, 12mm & 16mm x450mm.They took three days to arrive, were very well packaged.The bits did the job very easily and for the price, I would certainly recommend them and I will definitely be ordering some other sizes to keep on hand.

Bought to drill a 25mm hole through 30cm of solid brickwork.It was like drilling through butter! Even though I was atop of a ladder 5 metres up using a battery hand drill.The SDS bit had to be delicately aligned in a conventional chuck but it did the job beautifully.I ordered it on Thursday and it arrived Saturday!

The bits did my job very well in conjunction with a 12mm x 450mm and a 12mm x 1000mm to drill over 75 walls in very old Yorkshire Dales farms and houses fitting Hyperfast Broadband for a charity ( B4RN ) this will give them a 1gigabyte fibre optic service to the most remote places in the dales, non of the walls being less than 600mm thick and mostly very close to 1000mm in VERY hard rock, some of the holes at 5.5mm the bit did only one hole ! Strangely,I have noticed,as a "rule", not many of the top brand SDS sets have a 7mm SDS drill bit in their boxes/containers,when,if drilling holes for rawle plugs,this is one of the " go-to" bit sizes !.I ordered 3 of the above size - just in case.l have seen the many reviews of the over all range being sold,and shall be trying out the '7 mils.,by drilling lintels to hang vertical blinds,so,only tme will tell.But from all the positive reviews,it's worth a few quid to give 'em a go,and the delivery is fast, too !!!.Thanks very much.

I bought this as I was fitting an external plug socket and didn't want to spend a fortune on a drill bit that will only get used a couple of times in it's life. This drill bit was a great price for the 600mm x 10mm bit and did the job perfectly. For the cheap price I was expecting it to have a bend in it, but it was perfectly straight and looks to be well made. It came well packed in a card tube and came very fast. Very pleased with the drill bit, service and especially the price!

Bought this for a 800mm drill through a thick stone wall on a sandstone Glasgow tenement, to put in a garden tap.I was worried that this would be a cheap waste of time given the price compared to Bosch or Makita equivalents but it managed just fine!Had to put some force behind it when I hit something solid but drill bit and TC coating stood up just as well as the makita bit I used as a pilot. Not entirely convinced about how many holes it hold last for but at this price it's a winner.
