My solution is to install a Zigbee smart plug to plug this transformer into and hardwire the output to the lights where that stupid timer once was wired. Now, my Home Assistant can turn the lights on or off as needed and it is on battery UPS with the POE-enabled wireless network and never suffers from power outages. Home assistant does not need a photosensor that might give false reading since dawn and dusk are available as presets. I can, of course, use motion sensors or vibration sensors or even weather events to control the lights. Home assistant is not much more expensive than a decent timer.
