Let's be clear. No one "NEEDS" a pipe lighter this expensive. But if you are like me, and have been smoking a pipe for many years, you discover that part of the enjoyment of pipe smoking is using really good equipment. A really good pipe with a solid tamper and your favorite tobacco. And if that is your goal, this lighter is THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED! The craftsmanship is excellent, and best of all, it lights every time on the first stroke. Not some of the time, or most of the time...but every time! The flame is adjustable from huge to average size and it looks beautiful. You will get compliments on it. I have owned most other brands. I have tried the $50 knock-offs of this lighter from several manufactures. All told, I have spent more than the cost of this lighter on other bad to mediocre lighters. If you love to smoke your pipe and want to get the most out of the experience, this lighter is your only choice.

Old school. Safer than torch lighter.Very expensive. But works very well if you maintain it. It is not a simple one click electronic ignition.It is very old-school with a flint that is held in by a spring in a screw. Two months after I bought mine the screw and spring shot across the room which I knew it and eventually would. But, you can't just order the parts you need.Do you get it fixed do you have to send it in with $35 just to get it looked at. !!!!!! Not customer oriented service at all.Wish I never bought it even though it would save a whole bunch of bics and a whole bunch of money overtime.Till I get it fixed too much hassle.Or I have to find some local place to take it to but currently I'm disabled and unable to do any of that and that's why I called service.They assumed I knew a local lighter outfit to go to. I'm disabled at the moment and unable to get around so very disappointed that I couldn't get service and parts from such a high priced out fit.

These are nice lighters however butane will leak. You can’t repair them yourself. You have to send them out to get repaired and that will cost you $35. You’re much better off going with a Peterson lighter. Same style and a lot less expensive and a whole lot more reliable. Do not recommend.

I'm not gonna lie, i only bought this because it's the lighter used in The Usual Suspects. It's a great lighter, It was a bit hard to understand how to use at first. I put the butane in and the flame was small. I realized that i had to adjust the flame size, but after that. It's a great people a lot of people are impressed by the design of it. It's pricey, but anything that's stylish is gonna be expensive. I'm sure that it'll bring me years of use as well.

Beautiful and reliable pipe lighter. Soft flame with good sized fuel reservoir. It might seem pricey but you get a great value for the money. When you read lighter reviews, this is the unit that sets the standard.

I chose this lighter because I liked the looks of it. once I got it I realized that its a little wider than the picture makes you think. It's great quality, good finish and very functional. If you smoke a pipe, cigars or cigarettes or just want a good lighter than this one it a good choice.

This is my first true pipe lighter and I am very happy with my purchase. Build quality is top-notch. The lighter is a bit smaller than expected, especially since I have large hands, but it still works flawlessly. Very happy with purchase.

I bought this lighter to light my pipes and is rock solid. Awesome finish and lights every time. I have another brand of the same style and there is just no comparison. You can spend less and get the same style but you will not get the quality that Corona has.
