Doña Isabel Aji Amarillo Molido (Yellow Hot Pepper Paste) 7.5oz Single Bottle - Product of Peru

I love this stuff! I first got it in a supermarket not near my home a few years back, and when I finished it and looked for more locally, I couldn't find it. Major food disappointment! I was SO HAPPY to find it on Amazon! I don't like ultra hot food, so for me, a little of this goes a pretty long way--but a teaspoon in a pan of braised mixed vegetables or on sauteed peppers and onions, or a bit added to the filling when making deviled eggs . . . so many ways to use it . . . and make food more appealing.

This is a staple in most of the dishes that I made. This arrived quickly and the taste is superb. Great quality Aji Amarillo! I would absolutely purchase from this seller. I have no complaints regarding the product at all. This beats trying to buy the actual pepper which isn't always found in common food stores. One tip for those that use this.. I've learned that a little goes a long way. I've made a few dishes and added simply one tablespoon of this to my entire dish (say one with a little over 1 lb of meat) and it is certainly something you can taste.. a little kick. If you're looking for flavor without the kick really then I'd keep this in mind. I now use about 1 teaspoon for my cooking as others at home aren't a fan of a spicy kick in their meals. I am pretty sure you can find this item a little less expensive at Hispanic grocery stores but I needed this and didn't want to have to make a trip a little farther out just to find this one item.

Packed well. This really adds to the recipe like a secret ingredient.

This was a new seasoning for me. I found it to be very warm, yet not overly spicy for my chicken dish. I was pleasently surprised.

Unfortunately I couldn't even try this product because when I opened up the jar,the seal didn't pop, so this jar had obviously been opened already which I'm really afraid of the freshness of the product or even of contamination,which it's really scary.If that wasn't enough,the 2nd jar was exactly the same scenario and on the top it says clearly that if the seal doesn't pop,please reject so that's exactly what I'm doing.Also the way they were shipped was not safe.The both glass jars came in a bigger box that had no padding or any bubble wrap at all.Just the 2 glass jars moving around in a big box which I'm really surprised on how they didn't break? I really was looking forward on having this paste with my food today.😒

My husband lived in Peru for two years and was trying to recreate Papas ala Huancaina for a group of friends. He chose this paste specifically because it's imported from Peru and looked authentic. He was NOT disappointed!!!! We made the dish and he said it tasted exactly like what he ate when in Trujillo, and he has now put it on potatoes, pasta, bread, and everything else he can think of pretty much. Wish it weren't as expensive.....we might need to find another supplier if he keeps going through it this fast! Passed his authenticity test though so that's why I feel it deserves all the stars I can give it!

This paste was not available in our local stores and the suggested substitute was mixing your own yellow peppers and habanero peppers. I would not have been able to make it as smooth and consistent and perfectly balanced. The paste was wonderful in the Peruvian Churu Chicken recipe I was making, but it could also be used as a marinade on it's own. Spicy and savoury.

Foodie here: We're always looking for interesting international recipes and ingredients. This time? I was looking at (and printing out) recipes from Peru. I never heard of these peppers before (and we love peppers!) so I thought why not and bought this. Fabulous flavour! Warm and spice with a tangy citrus-y note. It also has a wonderful aroma too. 10 stars if I could! I'm delighted Amazon is selling this!
