Fritz Aquatics Algae Clean Out - Algaecide for Fresh and Salt Water Aquariums, 16 oz

This may be the best product on the market when it comes to getting rid of a bad case of algae in your aquarium. I don't do a lot of reviews, but I had to let consumers know, this is an awesome product. I only hate I didn't take a picture of how my aquarium was looking before I took the pictures after I used the product. My aquarium, for the third time, after changing it and days later it would be almost totally green again. I became so frustrated with how it was looking. I was about to remove all the fish and dismantle the entire aquarium so I could clean everything, but the bad thing is, I had done that before and the algae still came back. I decided to start doing some research on what I could do to rid the aquarium of this horrible algae problem. After my research, I came to Amazon to order Fritz Aquatics Algae Clean Out. I read some reviews, there were a few negative reviews, but there were more great reviews so I decided to try it for myself. I am so glad I did because this saved me so much work and time. I received my package Thursday evening. I was so excited to get it and use it that I forgot to take a before picture. But the aquarium was almost totally green to the point where it looked like a green powdery substance was floating around in the water. I used the Fritz Aquatics Algae Clean Out around 10:00 pm Thursday night. I used 12 drops in a 20 gallon aquarium. It seems like maybe after 30 minutes I could began to see some of the items in the aquarium. Around 10:45 I turned the aquarium light out and went to bed. When I got up the next morning (Friday), around 7:00 am, I turned the aquarium light on and to my amazement, the water was crystal clear, I was excited, happy, and very impressed with how this product cleaned all that ugly green algae out. All my fish were fine and looked so happy to be swimming around in beautiful clean water again. Thank you Fritz Aquatics Algae Clean Out for such a wonderful product! Fritz hit a home run with this product; I have never used algae remover or controller that has not had some major catastrophic impact on my fish or plants before. Make sure you do not overdose, use as directed first sure. I have not lost a single fish since using this product; and I have not seen any detrimental impact on my plants. I use a mattenfilter, and the hair algae due to my overfeeding my fish was getting out of control. This product fixed it, and also encouraged me to moderate the amount of food I give my fish. Using a toothbrush as well using the "spaghetti method" to manually remove excess hair algae helps significantly as well. This product was 16 ounces I believe, and will last me a very, very long time. Very reasonable price for a huge amount of very effective product for algae removal and control; best of all no negative effects on my aquariums!

The product worked great for my saltwater tank. I followed the instructions on the bottle and less than 2 weeks all the algae were. HOWEVER I fail to yearn the same result for my freshwater tank. In fact, it seem to harm the live plants in the tank. I treated both tank at the same time, the freshwater tank didnt respond well with this product. The algae was still in the tank as if untouched.

My 20gal tank water had a yellowish tinge so thick I could hardly see the fish. I checked water params Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 20ppm. So I did a massive water change/gravel vac. I noticed a minor amount of mulm. It came right back. After throwing my hands up, I bought this stuff. 6 drops per 10 gal so I put in 12 drops and after 4 hours the results are incredible. Water clarity is about 60%. The directions say to dose every 3 days until the algae is gone. I've NEVER had an algae product work this well in my 30 years of fish keeping. To be fair, the algae was in the water column as opposed to surfaces. There was almost no green algae on the decorations. I put some (3 drops) in my 5gal betta tank which has been plagued with hair algae. Buy this stuff. You won't regret it.

After reading reviews about the lethality of this chemical on aquarium livestock, I decided to remove one reef rock, scrub it, and soak it separately in a bucket with the prescribed dosage. No effect. Then I mega dosed the bucket. The algae actually GREW!!! I think that this product is saltwater pumped with phosphates and nitrates. Utterly WORTHLESS!!!

Luckily the seal on the bottle held, because the lid was in three pieces.

Works miracles

I was a tad worried about the negative reviews. I have a 220-gallon Glow Fish tank with some Cory cats. No plants, but only plastic Glow Fish decorations. No gravel on the bottom. I must have caught Hair Algae from the water some of the fish came with and it totally got out of control. The instructions called from 3.5 cap Fulls. I used 3 cap Fulls the first 2 times with no negative results. The other 2 times I used the full 3.5 cap Fulls. After 4 treatments, the hair algae is totally gone and no ill effects. I would recommend this product.
