Quite simple but authentic recipes
I was Li oking for making some authentic Cantonese food but noticed the recipes from this book are more for street food and dim sum, such as egg custard tart (preferred Rick Steins recipe in long weekend I reckon), or congee... very basic recipes but taste ok... this is for some starter but if you are a Chinese like me and already is a good cook, this book probably too simple for you.

Authentic HK dishes that bring back memories
I've been looking for a cookbook that has local HK recipes like this for years. Growing up in HK, I ate many of these dishes growing up. I now live in the UK and many of these dishes are hard to find. The recipes are straightforward and have obtainable ingredients. The photos and story do a great job in giving you context and story behind the dishes. Reading through it gives me a huge sense of nostalgia.

Nothing hit the heart of Hongkong local cafes style
Early, midday' night. All dishes are mixed up. Cooking methods are not quite Hongkong locals as plenty of ingredients are not quite spotted on.Dishes range is not what I wanted to learn. Just nothing interesting from the book..I ended up using the book to write my own recipes..
