My two yo is currently obsessed with the solar system so I bought her the "Explorer Set" to help her learn about the planets. These are the best placemats I've found for kids anywhere! First of all, I appreciate their accuracy. Love it that these were designed by teachers! Many kid's products - toys, clothes, accessories, even books - feature inaccurate depictions of the solar system. I'll never understand why. I mean, if you're trying to furnish your children with educational materials of any sort then why bother if said info isn't accurate, right? These are accurate AND cute! These are colorful enough to hold even my young toddler's attention and they are truly non-slip. They also clean up very easily - I've already wiped not only food and sticky drinks off of them but crayon marks came off with a swipe of a baby wipe! Yay! Though we bought this set for the planet themed placemat, my daughter is loving the US map one too. She gets a big kick out of finding where we live now as well as the states where her mommy and daddy come from. I can't think of anything at all if so to improve upon these. In fact, I plan on buying additional sets of these as they'll make absolutely terrific "emergency gifts" to have on hand for kid birthdays and such that pop up. These are fun, gender-neutral, and suitable for a wide age range. Parents will appreciate that these do a great job protecting furniture and they're educational too! Wish these had been around back when I was a kid. :)

Nice quality. Good, realistic pictures. My 5 yo grandson loves them. Easy to clean. Fun showing him on the world map where we have traveled.

Granddaughter loves her placemats and I love that she actually looks at them! Nice quality and easy to clean. They are plenty big enough to use under crafts as well. Picture is only on one side.

These placemats are so awesome!! I initially bought them for the US map to show my daughter different states, as we have friends and family living throughout the US. She was asking a lot questions about where certain people live and I wanted a nice visual for her to reference. I wanted something smaller & not too big. I love how the the state map shows icons that are relevant to each state, i.e. Georgia has a peach, and so on. These are so great at mealtime! First off, they're educational, great design with colors and easy to read, and my four year old daughter is thoroughly enjoying these! She already knows all of the planets from practicing at mealtime. Mealtimes for parents can be annoying and frustrating, but these help to make it more fun. Second, they are a great quality--easy to wipe clean and have a rubber backing so they stay put on that table (nice feature!) I highly recommend these!!

These placemats are the best I've had so far. The designs are educational and fun, the material appears durable so far and the non-slip backing really works. There have been multiple times that my children have slipped while leaning onto other placemats, but not with these. The only reason I didn't give them 5 out of 5 is that when you place a hot plate on them they tend to become warped. However, as soon as it cools off though they return to normal. Merka never made a claim about these placemats being insulated or heat resistant but sometimes the plates you put on them might be a little hot. And when the placemat warps it's more likely to slip. But again, these are the best I've found so far so if you want a good placemat you could do worse than these.

I bought these for my two-year-old granddaughter because I use them in an educational manner. You can see how I do that in my video. I like these particular ones because they are durable and I can clean them before she eats. They are very easy to clean using a wipe or a cloth. The back of them is fantastic because it does not move around on the table (unlike most educational placemats). They are also good for using with modeling clay or crafts. These would be a great gift for anyone with a child or special needs adult!

These are great and the grip on them was amazing never knew what I was missing out on I prefer these with grip than any other without it. We always use a table cloth and it doesn’t slip around like the old ones did. They are a nice thickness and wash up easily.

Great passive learning tool for meals or craft time. They wash easily and have not faded with time or washing thus far. We mostly hand wash but my mother-in-law out these in the dishwasher once or twice and it is still okay. They also have not slipped for me on our granite counters. Recommend.

These are flexible plastic sheet placemats not silicon as advertised. Also the symbol for division is printed too similar to the plus sign and is confusing.
