The ohm rating of the VC Voice Coils has little to do with how powerful the subwoofer is however, SVC single voice coil subs generally aren't as loud and for the most part have disappeared in Car Audio (yes you can find them but nobody runs SVC subs anymore) Be careful with the information you get on Amazon as MECP "Mobile Electronic Professional" techs don't hang out here. You'll likely get bad information based on someone who thinks they know what their talking about I was MECP certified from 1995-2001 and no not at Best Buy. PS: Biggest problem in DIY installs Bad ground, not securing or choosing a better location Wrong guage wire, not using 4g, 2g or even 0g wire for a 7000w amp Not using a second battery with a large cap to support large amps Not isolating the 2nd battery from the charging system Nor running the amp strictly off the 2nd batter with a battery isolated in line so the amp doesn't drain your battery. A battery isolator goes in between the main battery 12v and 2nd battery. It's getting 700 watts rms with an audio control in dash, an epic center and Audio control EQ running entire system with 8 bands just for the sub and knocks hard. This is my ist ported box and like this better then sealed. I'm replacing the SKAR amp with the KX 1200 kicker which will be 1200 rms.
