Originally a bit sceptical about how effective and reliable a solar light would be for 'British Summer' camping, but having spent a week using this as our main light in a family tent I am genuinely impressed. Three brightness levels - low, high and flash. Low was plenty bright enough to cook by. Open the panels out for maximum light or angle them to create directional shade - ideal for keeping the kids asleep while the grown ups hit the wine! Very effective solar charging, charge light comes on in the shadiest of conditions but obviously is more effective in bright direct sunlight. Used for a week with 3 hours 'low' power nightly without need for usb charging.I get what others say about the hook. Does look a little flimsy but has survived family life so far and remember it's not just for dangling the light can be laid open and used as an uplight or stood on its blades.

Great bright light. Charges in next to no time and gives a strong clean light that can brighten up all the central living space of an 8 berth tent.The first time we used it we charged at home before setting off, and pitched the tent in near dark, went and got a chinese takeaway as it was 9pm and all pubs stopped serving food, and came back to the tent. Us and the 4 kids sat around our table eating comfortably with this light powering away. I didn't think it would have been that good, but it is.

I bought this on the premise that it was a solar powered fan, imagine my surprise when I opened the microscopic box and discovered it was in fact a fan shaped light! Regardless, I thought as I had bought it, I may as well hold on to it and see how it performs (as a light not a fan).We took the light on a camping trip and tried it out over several nights. I was not disappointed in it's ability as a light, but obviously not as impressed with its fan capabilities...The device is pretty small and lightweight, but seems pretty sturdy and packs a lot of power into a small unit. The battery life is exceptional and the brightness setting, although adjustable ranges from pretty bright to oh my god, my retinas are bleeding! The lights are so powerful it killed many, many flying insects on account of them no doubt being blinded by this portable lighthouse and subsequently smashing into the table it was resting on in a futile attempt to escape the light.It also comes with a handy little hidden hook, so you can attach to the inside of your tent and simulate day time at all hours too!

Pleasantly surprised with just how bright this lantern is on even the low setting. We wanted something that we could hang up at the top of our tent but also give a lot of light at that distance and this ticked the box perfectly. We charged it easily on a sunny day, but I imagine if you just had it attached to your rucksack when you're out and about it would be fine for that evening as there are solar panels all round even when folded up.It folds up neatly and easily so is very portable, and pretty lightweight too. If you didn't want to hang it up, it could easily sit on a flat surface when the three arms are unfolded.A great little lantern that is very bright and easily solar charged when don't have access to a USB port.

I hugely recommend this solar light for people with campervans/motorhomes.The light sat on the dashboard throughout the day then shone with a bright light throughout the night.I like how the 'petals' of the light can be manipulated and used as a flashlight, reading light, nightlight and awning light.Absolutely wonderful - we now have two!

Bright - but one charge only gave 3 hours of light before a noticeable dimming. Shame it's a great gadget. I'm not convinced the solar charging actually works that well. BUT it is small and very bright so as long as one has means to USB charge, then it is a good product.Update - 2 years on - still a good light still not convinced the solar panel charging actually works but I make sure I have a powerpack on hand to charge when out an about.

I highly recommend this item. Very good quality, bright light. Two light modes , very handy, easily charged. The hook for hanging is a good feature. I can't praise enough for this light. Especially for the price given. Perfect for camping or just general household use too. A+++ item, very highly recommended by a mom of two boys.

These little beauties charge during the day and give three setting of light at night - bright, not so bright and flashing. Either continuous light setting is perfect for lighting a 2 man tent enough to read or dress.The fold away hook on the top is a bonus.I have one to hang in the tent and one to use outside, on the table
